Thousands of Disney Guests Could Be Stranded by Air Traffic Strike This Month

Disneyland Paris guests planning trips in early October could face major travel challenges as the main French air traffic control union, the SNCTA, has announced a strike. The union confirmed the industrial action will run “from the start of duty on the morning of 7 October until the end of night duty on the morning of the 10 October,” raising the prospect of widespread flight cancellations and delays.

Thousands of Flights Could Be Cancelled

The strike threatens to disrupt travel for thousands of passengers, with flights to and from Paris potentially cancelled and many others likely to experience delays. During the last major air traffic control strike in July 2025, tens of thousands of travelers across Europe were affected, forcing visitors to quickly adjust their itineraries and travel plans.

The SNCTA has cited long-standing issues with the management of France’s air traffic control system. According to the union: “For several years, the governance of air traffic control has been characterised by mistrust, punitive practices, and brutal managerial methods.” The announcement highlights ongoing tensions between air traffic controllers and management, with staff advocating for changes to working conditions and oversight.

Impact on Disneyland Paris Guests

For visitors to Disneyland Paris, this strike could mean last-minute cancellations, altered schedules, and disrupted trips. Airlines are expected to contact affected passengers directly, but given the strike’s scale, many resort-goers may need to reschedule flights, consider alternative transport options, or adjust their park itineraries.

Experts advise travelers to monitor airline communications closely, remain flexible with their travel plans, and consider travel insurance that covers strike-related disruptions. Guests arriving via Paris airports should allow extra time at terminals, as delays and congestion are likely to escalate during the strike.

The SNCTA strike underscores the ripple effects of industrial action in critical transportation sectors, particularly for tourism-heavy destinations like Disneyland Paris. For international visitors, the disruption serves as a reminder of how fragile travel plans can be during periods of labor unrest and why proactive planning is essential
