This Sign at Disney Springs Says “Trick” and “Treat,” So Do Not Wait on This One

There is a new build-your-own souvenir at Walt Disney World, and this one does not require a park ticket.

Guests can now craft their own poison apple at Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers in the Marketplace area of Disney Springs.

The price is $89.

How It Works

A sign appeared at the store on Wednesday, September 30, with a sample on display.

The apple is small and see-through, with crystals visible inside. The sample held red and green ones.

The sign explains the format in two lines:

“Trick: Craft your own apple Treat: Choose your magic crystals”

So the apple is the vessel. The crystals are your choice.

Why No Ticket Matters

Disney’s other build-your-own experiences all live inside the parks.

Droid Depot and Savi’s Workshop sit behind a Hollywood Studios ticket. The princess makeover needs a park or resort visit. The real cost is the experience plus admission.

Disney Springs charges nothing to enter and nothing to park.

That makes this the most accessible make-your-own souvenir at Walt Disney World, and for locals without an annual pass, probably the only practical one.

On the $89

Fair to ask whether a small glass apple is worth that.

Two things.

Within Disney’s build-your-own category, $89 is at the low end. The park-based versions run considerably higher, some several times more.

And again, no admission attached. That changes the real number significantly.

Crystal Arts Is Not a Generic Gift Shop

Worth knowing if you have walked past it a hundred times.

Crystal Arts is run by Arribas Brothers, a family glass business that has been cutting and engraving at Walt Disney World for decades. It is one of the longest-running independent craft operations on property, and the work happens on site. You watch the engraving.

In a shopping district where a lot of retail has drifted toward merchandise you could order online, a shop where someone cuts glass by hand is unusual.

A Silhouette Studio Is Coming Too

Part of Crystal Arts is under construction for a new Studio for Silhouettes.

It has been described as including “an interactive wish builder spot” with “cool lights” and other features. Disney has not explained what an interactive wish builder is.

The direction is notable, though. Silhouette cutting is one of the oldest crafts in Disney parks, where an artist cuts your profile freehand from black paper in about a minute.

A store adding a silhouette studio while launching a build-your-own glass experience is leaning into handmade work at a time when plenty of Disney retail is going the other way.

Is This Halloween Only

Unclear, and worth considering before you wait.

The sign reads “Trick” and “Treat,” which is Halloween language, and it showed up on the last day of September.

Disney has not announced an end date and has not called it limited time.

So it could be seasonal, or it could be permanent with a seasonal sign. Nobody outside Disney knows.

If you want one, October is the safer bet.

For the Villain Fans

The poison apple comes from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, where Disney animated features started, and it has become the default Disney villain icon. It is on ears, drinkware, jewelry, everything.

A glass version you assembled, with crystals you picked, beats another printed version of the same image.

A glowing green apple with a dripping, skull-shaped overlay that has bright red eye sockets and nose sits against a dark, smoky background. The skull design gives the apple a sinister, eerie appearance, reminiscent of the poisoned fruit from "Snow White" fairy tales.
