The Orlando, Florida theme parks do an excellent job of making sure the magic of your vacation starts as soon as possible and lasts as long as possible. If you’re lucky enough to land or take off from Terminal C at Orlando International Airport, you can experience something other terminals can’t.
The Orlando airport, also known as MCO, opened a brand new terminal in September 2022. The Palm Court area is home to both a Walt Disney World Store and a Universal Studios Store.
Universal Studios is winning Guests’ attention this time on the top floor of their two-story gift shop. Along the ceiling, a long, narrow screen reaches and wraps down onto the walls, showing what looks like a window to an open blue sky. The graphics are beautiful and realistic.
@rainbowotakugirl If youre a harry potter fan then you need to watch this #orlando #orlandoflorida #harrypotter #dragons #hogwartscastle #orlandointernationalairport #harrypottertiktok
Harry Potter‘s Hogwarts is on the horizon. In the distance, slowly growing in size as it gets closer, is a dragon! Its magnificent and powerful wings propel it forward until it lands on the screen as if there was open air between the dragon and the shoppers.
The dragon gives a giant roar and then breathes red and yellow fire. As the smoke dissipates, the dragon flies away overhead. Shoppers are beneath its feet, looking up as it soars through the puffy clouds. The details in the dragon’s movement immerse Guests in the wizarding world in the middle of a gift shop.
The dragon spirals downward and breathes fire again before flying off into the distance. Is this technology being used in theme parks too?
From the outside of the store, the screen is only barely visible. You must enter the store completely to enjoy the Harry Potter dragon. Videos of the experience spread around social media for the last seven months, prompting fliers to specifically book a flight to the Orlando airport that interacts with Terminal C. The Universal Studios Store in Terminal C cannot be accessed without the appropriate ticket.
If you’re lucky enough to be in Terminal C at MCO, don’t miss your chance to see a dragon without stepping foot in the Universal Orlando Resort!
