The Original Versions of 3 EPCOT Pavilions Are Disappearing in World Showcase

When people think about change at EPCOT, they usually picture new rides and major construction projects.

World Showcase is different.

For generations, the international pavilions have remained remarkably consistent, allowing guests to revisit favorite locations year after year with very little changing around them.

That consistency is becoming harder to find.

Disney has now confirmed updates affecting France, Canada, and Mexico that are removing or altering parts of the original pavilion experiences many guests have known for years.

A France Pavilion Favorite Is Gone for Now

La Signature officially closed on June 8 and is expected to remain unavailable for several months. The Guerlain boutique offered a distinctly different shopping experience than most EPCOT retail locations, focusing on luxury French fragrances and cosmetics.

While Disney will continue selling some Guerlain products elsewhere in the pavilion, the boutique itself is no longer operating.

For regular visitors, that means one of France’s most unique experiences has temporarily vanished.

Canada’s New Future Is Taking Shape

Construction is now visibly transforming the former Refreshment Port building.

Disney and Air Canada have announced plans for La Poutinerie, a new Canadian-themed dining venue that will become part of the Canada Pavilion. Exterior work continues as crews reshape the location.

The project represents a significant shift for a location that has occupied the edge of World Showcase for years.

Mexico Isn’t Finished Yet

The Mexico Pavilion remains a work in progress.

One entrance has reopened, but another continues to stay closed as Disney completes refurbishment work and updates decorative elements on the exterior of the pyramid.

The attraction and dining offerings inside remain open, though guests are still navigating around construction-related restrictions.

World Showcase Keeps Changing

Many EPCOT fans view World Showcase as the park’s most timeless area.

Yet the current state of France, Canada, and Mexico shows that Disney continues updating these spaces even when changes happen on a smaller scale.

Some projects are temporary. Others may permanently reshape how guests experience the pavilion moving forward.

Either way, the versions of these pavilions many longtime EPCOT visitors remember are slowly giving way to something new.
