EPCOT is once again preparing for another noticeable change inside World Showcase, and this time it is happening in one of the park’s busiest international pavilions.
Disney has now confirmed that La Signature, the luxury Guerlain fragrance and cosmetics boutique located in the France Pavilion, will temporarily close beginning June 8, 2026. While the closure is not permanent, Disney currently expects the location to remain unavailable for several months before reopening later this year.

For many casual guests, the closure may not initially sound like a major development. After all, EPCOT sees ride refurbishments and construction projects fairly often. But longtime EPCOT fans know that changes inside World Showcase tend to feel different. These pavilions are designed to feel timeless, and many of their shops and experiences remain largely unchanged for years at a time.
That is part of why this particular closure stands out.
The France Pavilion has quietly become one of EPCOT’s biggest crowd centers over the last several years. Between Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the expanded courtyard area, La Crêperie de Paris, and the pavilion’s shopping and dining locations, the entire section now draws heavy traffic almost all day long.
Now one of its more unique experiences is temporarily disappearing.
France Pavilion Continues Growing in Popularity
The France Pavilion has changed dramatically from what many longtime EPCOT guests remember.
Before the expansion tied to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, parts of the pavilion felt tucked away and almost hidden from the larger crowds flowing through World Showcase. Today, however, the area stays packed for large portions of the day as guests flood toward the attraction, restaurants, bakery, and shopping locations.
La Signature became part of that modern transformation.
Unlike many Disney merchandise stores that focus almost entirely on souvenirs and branded products, the boutique offers something much closer to a real luxury retail experience. Guests can browse French fragrances, skincare products, and cosmetics from Guerlain while also receiving makeup consultations inside the location.
It gives the France Pavilion an atmosphere that feels noticeably different from much of the rest of Walt Disney World.
That attention to authenticity has always been one of EPCOT’s biggest strengths.
World Showcase works because each pavilion attempts to create small cultural experiences beyond simply offering rides or snacks. Some guests visit Japan for Mitsukoshi. Others stop in the United Kingdom Pavilion for tea shops and entertainment. France has gradually become one of the strongest overall pavilion experiences in the park.
That is why even a retail closure like this gets attention from EPCOT fans.
Disney Already Has a Backup Plan
Fortunately for guests visiting this summer, Disney is not completely removing Guerlain products from the park during the refurbishment.
The company confirmed that merchandise from La Signature will temporarily move to Plume et Palette while work takes place inside the boutique. That means guests will still have access to many of the same perfumes, cosmetics, and beauty products throughout the closure period.
Disney has not revealed exactly what the refurbishment involves.

Right now, the company has only stated that La Signature will reopen sometime later in 2026, leaving the exact timeline fairly broad. That wording often gives Disney flexibility in case projects run longer than expected, something EPCOT fans have become very familiar with over the past several years.
The park spent much of the early 2020s surrounded by construction walls as Disney reshaped large portions of Future World into the new World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery neighborhoods.
Although the massive overhaul phase has mostly wrapped up, EPCOT continues evolving in smaller ways across the park.
EPCOT Never Really Stops Changing
One thing longtime Disney fans understand is that EPCOT is almost always in transition.
Even after major projects finish, Disney continues refreshing restaurants, shops, attractions, and pavilion spaces behind the scenes. The difference with World Showcase, though, is that guests often notice these changes more quickly because the area relies so heavily on atmosphere and familiarity.
The France Pavilion especially has become central to EPCOT’s identity in recent years.
It is now one of the most photographed locations in the park. Guests rope drop Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure every morning. Others spend time exploring the back streets, grabbing pastries from Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, or relaxing near the fountain area.
That increased popularity also means increased wear and tear.
Disney has not said whether this closure is simply cosmetic, operational, or tied to larger refurbishment work. Still, a closure expected to last several months suggests something more substantial than minor maintenance.
And with EPCOT preparing for another busy summer season, Disney likely wants the location fully refreshed before the holiday crowds eventually arrive later this year.
World Showcase Closures Hit Differently
There is always a different reaction when EPCOT closes something inside World Showcase.
Attractions closing for refurbishment are expected. Construction walls around new projects have become common throughout Walt Disney World. But World Showcase locations often carry emotional connections for returning guests who have built yearly traditions around them.
Even smaller closures can suddenly change the feel of an entire pavilion.
That is especially true in France, where so much of the experience depends on atmosphere. The music, architecture, shops, dining locations, and hidden corners all work together to create one of the strongest themed environments Disney has built anywhere in Florida.
For now, La Signature is simply the latest piece of that pavilion temporarily going away.
Thankfully, Disney fully intends to bring the boutique back later this year. Still, guests planning EPCOT visits throughout summer and early fall should expect to see at least one noticeable section of the France Pavilion unavailable for quite some time.
