First Look: Syndrome and Maleficent Join the Villainous Lineup at Oogie Boogie Bash 2025
This fall, Disney California Adventure Park is getting even more frightfully fun as two of Disney’s most notorious villains make their grand debut at Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party.
This separately ticketed event is beloved by Disney fans for its rare character appearances, immersive treat trails, and the chance for guests of all ages to dress up in costume and roam the park in their Halloween best.
It’s the one time of year you might find yourself trick-or-treating alongside Disney’s most devious icons — and 2025’s lineup is looking more wicked than ever.
Syndrome Steals the Spotlight at Pixar Pier
Superheroes beware — Syndrome from Pixar’s The Incredibles has arrived at Oogie Boogie Bash, and he’s ready to unleash his plans for ultimate supremacy.
Known for his cunning intellect, flashy gadgets, and vendetta against Supers, this fiery-haired villain will hold court at his own dedicated treat trail near the Pixar Pier Band Shell.
Guests can stop by to collect sweets, snap some unforgettable photos, and maybe even get caught in one of Syndrome’s “brilliant” monologues. Just don’t let his charm distract you from his not-so-super intentions.

Maleficent Descends on Grizzly Peak
She’s the Mistress of All Evil — and she’s ready to prove it. Maleficent from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Sleeping Beauty will cast her shadow over the Mountain Road area in Grizzly Peak, tucked behind the queue for Grizzly River Run.
At this sinisterly enchanting treat trail, guests will be greeted with candy and a chance to experience Maleficent’s commanding presence up close. Whether she’s flaunting her flowing robes or reminding you of her unparalleled magical powers, she’s sure to leave an impression… possibly a chilling one.

More Villainous Encounters Await
Syndrome and Maleficent won’t be alone in their mischief. This year’s Oogie Boogie Bash will also feature the likes of Hades from Hercules, Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb, Ernesto de la Cruz from Coco, and, of course, Oogie Boogie himself from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Across 12 treat trails, guests can expect plenty of candy, over-the-top villain performances, and photo ops you won’t find on a regular park day.
With appearances starting August 17 and running on select nights through October 31, Oogie Boogie Bash promises an unforgettable Halloween experience. So grab your costume, bring your candy bag, and prepare for a night when the bad guys take center stage — and they’re ready for their close-up.
