Starting August 15, Universal Annual Passholders Get a New Epic Universe Advantage

Universal Orlando Resort is rolling out another benefit for Annual Passholders, and this one could make it easier to experience one of Epic Universe’s live shows.

As Passholder Appreciation Days get underway, Universal Orlando Annual Passholders can receive priority seating for The Untrainable Dragon in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.

The perk lasts for a limited time, and there are a few important details guests need to know before heading to the show.

Universal Adds Priority Seating at Epic Universe

Universal shared the news through its official Annual Passholder Instagram Stories on August 12.

During Passholder Appreciation Days, Annual Passholders can receive priority seating for The Untrainable Dragon. Universal asks Passholders to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled showtime to take advantage of the offer.

However, priority access doesn’t necessarily guarantee a seat.

Universal says seating remains first-come, first-served and is subject to change. Guests also need separate admission to Epic Universe, meaning the Annual Passholder benefit itself doesn’t provide entry into the park.

For Passholders already planning an Epic Universe day, though, the perk could make it a little easier to fit the show into a busy schedule.

What Is The Untrainable Dragon?

The Untrainable Dragon is a live stage production located in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.

The approximately 20-minute show features Hiccup and Toothless alongside Gobber and Astrid as the group attempts to solve a mystery. Universal designed the production for guests of all ages.

Unlike a continuously operating ride, live entertainment requires guests to plan around scheduled performance times. That can make priority seating particularly useful for Passholders trying to experience several attractions during one visit.

Instead of arriving well ahead of time and hoping to find a good spot, eligible Passholders now have a special seating opportunity during the Appreciation Days celebration.

Still, Universal recommends arriving 15 minutes early, so Passholders shouldn’t expect to walk into the theater right as a performance begins.

Passholder Appreciation Days Run Through September

Universal Orlando’s Passholder Appreciation Days begin August 15 and continue through September 30.

That gives Passholders several weeks to potentially use the priority seating benefit while visiting Epic Universe.

There is one interruption to keep in mind.

The Untrainable Dragon is scheduled to close for refurbishment from September 15 through September 20.

Anyone planning a visit specifically around the Passholder seating benefit will want to avoid those dates. The show should otherwise have opportunities for Passholders before and after the scheduled refurbishment during Appreciation Days.

Universal also notes that seating availability can change, so guests should check the latest schedule when they arrive.

Another Perk for Universal Orlando Passholders

Priority seating might not be the biggest Annual Passholder benefit Universal has ever offered, but it can still be useful.

Epic Universe gives guests plenty to fit into a single day, and live shows can sometimes be harder to schedule than rides. Giving Passholders a priority option provides a little more flexibility, especially for anyone who already planned to spend part of the day exploring Isle of Berk.

Passholders need Epic Universe admission, should arrive 15 minutes before showtime, and should remember that seating remains first-come, first-served.

Most importantly, guests hoping to use the benefit should pay attention to that September refurbishment.

Passholder Appreciation Days continue through September 30, but The Untrainable Dragon won’t be available for the entire celebration.

For Passholders visiting outside those closure dates, however, Universal has added one more limited-time perk to their Epic Universe experience.
