‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Suffers Major Blow, Tom Holland Rushed to Hospital
An upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film has suffered a minor delay as the lead actor has been injured while on set.
Tom Holland Injured
Tom Holland is believed to have suffered a “fall” on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, British tabloid The Sun has reported.
While details about how the injury occurred are unknown, it’s said to be a “concussion”, with the incident having taken place on Friday, September 12.
According to The Sun, an East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford.” They added: “An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.”
A woman believed to be a stunt double was also taken to hospital in an ambulance.
Holland is now taking a break from filming as a precaution, but is expected to return to the set in a few days.
Per The Sun, his father Dominic, who was attending a charity dinner in Mayfair, has confirmed that his son will be away from filming “for a while”. Holland was also in attendance at the dinner, posing for photographs with Spider-Man co-star and fiancée Zendaya, 28. However, he reportedly left the event early after feeling unwell.
Filming is expected to have been suspended as a result, although further details are unknown at this time. Sony, who is producing alongside Marvel Studios, will meet today (Monday, September 22) to outline a plan going forward following the incident.
It’s also unknown if this stall in production will result in a change to the release date, which is currently set for July 31, 2026.
