If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom this summer, don’t be surprised if you see something new… that you can’t actually do. Not unless you’re part of an exclusive group.
Disney is rolling out a limited-time experience that most park guests will walk right past without realizing it’s even there. And that’s exactly the point—it’s not for everyone. In fact, it’s only for Annual Passholders. That’s right, Disney just added something extra magical that you won’t be able to access with a regular park ticket.
So what is it? A villain-themed photo op that’s bound to get Disney fans talking.
A Hidden Gem With a Wicked Twist
Starting June 15 and running through July 31, Disney is giving Annual Passholders something special inside Fantasyland. Tucked away by the castle walls near Pinocchio Village Haus, guests with a valid Annual Pass can strike a pose for a Maleficent-inspired Magic Shot. This exclusive photo experience even brings in her infamous raven, Diablo, thanks to a little PhotoPass magic. It’s dark, dramatic, and perfect for anyone who loves Disney villains.
The best part? It’s happening daily from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.—just don’t forget your Passholder ID if you plan to check it out.
A Perk-Filled Summer for Passholders
This isn’t the only bonus Disney is giving its most loyal fans. The new villainous photo op is part of the broader V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days celebration, which includes all sorts of fun extras. Passholders can snag a limited-edition Maleficent magnet, check out a dedicated lounge over at EPCOT through mid-July, and get access to exclusive merchandise, including a themed tumbler designed by artist Joey Chou.
And let’s not ignore the food perks. Select Disney restaurants are offering an incredible 40% off for Passholders from Monday through Thursday. That’s one of the steepest dining discounts Disney has ever handed out.
A Shift Toward More Magic for Passholders
If this all feels like Disney is showing a little extra love to its Annual Passholders this year—you’re not wrong. Magic Kingdom isn’t typically known for being heavy on Passholder-exclusive experiences, so seeing something new pop up here is a welcome surprise.
It also fits a larger trend. Hollywood Studios is getting in on the villain action too with the debut of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, a new stage show that’s sure to bring more wicked fun to the parks.
So if you’re an Annual Passholder, it’s a great time to take advantage of everything Disney’s offering. From discounts to character moments you won’t get anywhere else, this summer is shaping up to be a pretty magical one.
