A wrong-way driver near Magic Kingdom Park triggered an early morning police response Tuesday, though the incident unfolded hours before most Walt Disney World Resort guests had even arrived at the park.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office logged the call at 5:56 a.m. on September 29, responding to a report of a “reckless driver wrong-way” at the intersection of N World Drive and Timberline Drive, a key roadway connecting the Transportation & Ticket Center and Magic Kingdom Park.

Central Florida law enforcement monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared the scanner details on X (formerly known as Twitter), posting:

🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 9/29/26 5:56 AM
🚨: Reckless Driver Wrong-Way at 📍: Intersection of N World Drive and Timberline Drive

This particular report stood out for its specificity. While scanner reports connected to Walt Disney World Resort typically reflect broad, generalized addresses rather than exact locations, this call identified a precise intersection where the wrong-way driver was spotted.

No Confirmed Injuries or Collisions

It remains unclear whether the driver was ultimately apprehended or whether any charges have been filed. Fortunately, there’s no indication that the incident resulted in a major collision or significant traffic disruption. Given the early hour, Magic Kingdom Park had not yet opened, and most guests were likely still asleep at their hotels when the report came through.

Additional details about the driver could surface if a police report is released or criminal charges are eventually filed. Walt Disney World Resort is unlikely to issue any public comment on the situation.

A Separate Incident Hours Later

Later that same morning, the westbound lanes of I-4 closed following an unrelated collision, causing delays for travelers headed toward Walt Disney World Resort. Based on what’s currently known, that closure does not appear connected to the earlier wrong-way driver report near Magic Kingdom.
