We love a good competition, and the theme park competition that has been happening as of late is one we can get on board with. The Walt Disney Company and Universal have competed for years as the two top theme parks in the United States strive to be the best at what they do. As The Walt Disney Company focuses on updated current parks like EPCOT, Universal prepares to open a third park with Epic Universe coming in 2025. What might be surprising to some is that another theme park in California claims to be the top theme park.

Knott’s Berry Farm
Located in Buena Park, California, Knott’s Berry Farm is owned by Cedar’s Fair, which recently announced a merger with Six Flags’ to create one single amusement park company that will close in 2024.
Knott’s Berry Farm isn’t waiting for the merger to be in place before making significant changes to one of its lands. Camp Snoopy Land is getting a major overhaul and will feature three new thrilling rides scheduled to open on Memorial Weekend 2024.
These three rides will help Knott’s Berry Farm continue to compete with Disneyland for guests of all ages.
New Rides
The newest ride will be Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster, which is stated to be a perfect first-coaster experience. Camp Snoopy’s Off-Road Rally is taking over Rocky Mountain Trucking Company, where guests will ride their four-wheel SUV.
A new swing ride called Sally’s Swing Along will allow families to sit side-by-side and swing together to around 10 feet in the air.
These new rides to Camp Snoopy bring excellent options for families wanting to experience fun together in another well-themed theme park in California.
Competing with Other Theme Parks
Knott’s Berry Farms isn’t just focused on updating lands and adding new rides as ways to compete with Universal and Disneyland. Like these theme parks, Knott’s Berry Farm hosts a handful of seasonal festivals and events throughout the year to invite guests in for even more fun.
The Peanuts Celebration happens early in 2024 as the beloved and iconic characters take over the entire park for lots of additional fun.
In the spring months, Knott’s Boysenberry Festival provides boysenberry-inspired food and drinks throughout the park, as well as live entertainment, shows, and music.
Throughout the summer months, guests can enjoy Ghost Town Alive, fall brings Knott’s Spooky Farm, and the holiday season brings Knott’s Merry Farm full of festive treats, shows, and celebrations.
We love a good, friendly competition and are happy to see other theme parks get involved to push our beloved Disney and Universal to continue creating and designing unique experiences for guests in their theme parks.
