Review & Photos of Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

Today, March 4, we were invited by Disney to get some behind the scenes insight into the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. One thing that many people love about EPCOT is the different festivals they have throughout the year. If you’re going to be visiting Walt Disney World from now through July 5th you won’t want to miss the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Last year this festival was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so many people want to get their fix this year since they couldn’t before. Here are some things that make this festival so wonderful.

1. Topiaries

Yesterday I was at EPCOT for opening day so I was able to take a nice relaxing stroll around the park and get pictures of all the amazing artwork that Disney has with the topiaries. It is truly remarkable what artists can do with different plants. Near the main entrance Sorcerer Mickey Mouse is there to greet you. You’ll also be able to see some other classics like Pluto and Chip ‘n Dale between Future World and World Showcase. Looking for Anna and Elsa? You can find them by the Norway Pavilion. If you’re looking for some classics you can find Snow White and Dopey by the Germany Pavilion. Another favorite Disney princess is Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”, who is by the France Pavilion. Everyone loves Winnie the Pooh and friends and you can locate them by the United Kingdom Pavilion. This is just a small list of all the different topiaries you will see, this doesn’t even begin to cover them all. Get those cameras out and ready.

2. Outdoor Kitchens

One of the main highlights of today’s media event was the new food items that you can try. Some of your favorites are back this year, but there are many new options that we were able to sample. I am vegan so one of the options I was able to try was the Impossible Sausage and Kale Soup. It was tasty and had a little bit of a kick to it. I also tried the Watermelon Salad, but asked for no feta. If you have no dietary restrictions then there will be many options for you. Make sure to check out the different offerings around World Showcase. Also, things are clearly marked plant-based or gluten/wheat friendly for those with special dietary restrictions. I’m definitely looking forward to trying many more of the plant-based options.

3. Merchandise

We were able to get a close look at all the new merchandise that is dedicated to the festival. There were cute T-shirts, hats, cups and so much more; plus the newest ears available with Spike on them with orange flowers. I saw a lot of guests walking around this so they will definitely be popular.

4. Global Gardens

There is so much that you can learn about the environment at the Flower & Garden Festival as well. Check out The Honey Bee-stro hosted by National Honey Board at Future World, where you can learn about how bees play an important role in our environment. New this year is the Prehistoric Garden at Future World East. It gives you a little insight into what the earth was like 65 million years ago and takes you back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. There are many different learning opportunities in the global gardens, you don’t want to miss any of them.

5. Entertainment

What would the festival be without entertainment? We got to start our day listening to the Jammin’ Gardeners at the Canada Mill Stage, who knew trash cans could be so musical? We also got to hear the Vintage Vinyl Band do some covers, they are extremely talented. What’s wonderful is that this year Disney is showcasing Orlando artists. It’s incredible to see how much talent our city has. You also don’t want to miss the Voices of Liberty or Mariachi Cobre at the America Gardens Theatre. This is just a small sample of the talented artists that you can see.

6. Fun for All Ages

There is truly something for everyone in the family at the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. One of the classics that people love has returned, which is the Goodness Garden Butterfly House presented by GoGo squeeZ. Who wouldn’t love walking through a beautiful garden filled with majestic butterflies? If you stand still one may even land on you. Health Full Trail Presented by Advent Health helps give you tips and tricks on staying healthy. The Egg-stravagaza Scavenger Hunt is a fun game where you look for decorative eggs inspired by Disney characters. That runs March 19 and is while supplies last. The other scavenger hunt is Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration, and that has already started. Look for Spike in the different gardens, he’s usually easy to find.

The Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is such a fun and creative festival. A special thank you to Walt Disney World for hosting us and letting us showcase so many of the fun things that you can do see and do at this festival. We’re so happy to get to fully enjoy it this year.
