Disney World Quietly Repaints Iconic Feature of the Magic Kingdom

A bit of fresh paint is going up in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park, where Walt Disney World Resort is touching up the mural outside the Tangled (2010)-inspired restrooms. The company hasn’t said a word about it, and most guests walking by may not realize that the artwork has been changing right before their eyes.

The floral-inspired mural above the women’s restroom entrance was last repainted in the summer of 2025. A year of intense Florida sun and frequent thunderstorms wasn’t kind to it. Only a few weeks ago, the artwork looked faded and chipped, and Walt Disney World Resort has now stepped in to restore it.

WDWNT reported on October 19 that the section above the arch-shaped restroom entrance has been refreshed and looks complete, based on photos the outlet shared on social media.

The job isn’t entirely finished. The portion of the mural that stretches out onto the sidewalk from the base of the tower remains unfinished. That area took the heaviest beating from guests walking over it day after day, and cast members are repainting it now. A few rolling planters are blocking it off in the meantime.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t given a date for when the barriers will come down.

Guests can still use the Tangled restrooms during the refurbishment. Because the planters take up some of the space near the entrance, though, there may be a short wait to enter the women’s restroom while others exit.

As is typical, Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t commented publicly on the project. Disney rarely acknowledges maintenance work unless it forces an attraction, restaurant, shop, or other guest amenity to close. Since only one section of the mural remains to be finished, the project may wrap up soon, though that is an expectation, not a confirmed timeline.
