Anyone with a family knows that life does not stop, even if you’re pregnant. Every year, thousands of pregnant soon-to-be moms visit Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort for their vacations.

Pregnant moms at Disney have the perfect opportunity to enjoy the magic of the parks while taking care of themselves. From exploring the enchanting streets of Magic Kingdom to experiencing the thrilling food and virgin drinks at EPCOT, there are plenty of ways for pregnant women to create lasting memories during their visit.

What Happens if You Give Birth at Disney?

While the vast majority of pregnant women at Disney are just hoping to enjoy a vacation before their new baby arrives, some moms have a slightly more sinister plan up their sleeves. According to numerous cast member sources, pregnant women have allegedly attempted to give birth within the Disney theme parks.

For decades, many guests have believed the rumor that babies born within the Disney theme parks are given a lifetime pass. This rumor is one of Disney’s most widespread, but unfortunately, it is absolutely untrue.

Many Disney historians believe that the rumor stems from the first birth that happened within Disneyland Resort in 1979. Parents Rosa and Elias Salcedo were visiting the theme park when Rosa unexpectedly began going into labor. The baby was delivered on Main Street, U.S.A., on July 4.

While Rosa and Elias’ baby did not receive a lifetime pass, Disney did go above and beyond to honor them with a certificate honoring the first-ever birth at Disney. While Disney will do their best to care for any mom in labor in the parks, it is certainly not an ideal situation for Disney or for expectant mothers.

Cast Member Responds To Viral Video

Even with no evidence of this policy, many fans today still believe Disney will give a lifetime pass for in-park births. Just this week, a cast member responded to a video where a pregnant woman claimed:

“POV: Trying to give birth at Disney so our son can have a lifetime pass.”

I genuinely have no idea how this rumor started. 🤷‍♂️#disneyworld #disneysecrets #disneyhacks #dcp #disneyland

This cast member goes on to explain that numerous women have tried to give birth in Disney, including one woman who locked herself in a bathroom to do so. Overall, he strongly advises against the practice.

If you are pregnant and visiting Disney, it is important to avoid giving birth in the parks as much as possible. While this myth may seem tempting to try, the safety of you and your child is the priority, and theme parks are no replacement for a hospital room.
