Most people aren’t thinking about Halloween during the hottest part of the summer, unless, of course, they’re dreaming of cooler seasons of the year and pining for the lower temperatures that generally accompany the fall holiday season. But at Disney World, the Halloween season begins in August, especially this year as Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has made its triumphant return to Magic Kingdom.
But that’s not the only part of the Disney World Halloween festivities that has finally returned to the parks, as one Guest-favorite spooky experience is back at Magic Kingdom for the first time since 2019.
Journalist Scott Gustin took to social media earlier this week to share a short video of the eerie figure who has made a return appearance this year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom.

Yes, the Headless Horseman rides again along Main Street, U. S. A., at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Not so much as a shadowy figure of the Headless Horseman has been spotted anywhere at Magic Kingdom since 2019 during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
In 2020, the Guest-favorite Mickey Halloween party was not offered because of the coronavirus pandemic that swept the nation and the world that year. In 2021, there was talk of the special spooky bash returning, but in May of that year, Disney Parks announced the cancelation of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for the second year in a row.
This year, Guests are thrilled that the festivities are back and in full swing–and even feature the Headless Horseman riding through Main Street as Guests look on. Earlier this week, the mysterious horseman made his way through the crowd of Guests gathered that evening for the festivities. Surely everyone left the park that evening with plans to watch Disney’s Ichabod and Mr. Toad.
After all, it’s not so scary!
