Once the Lights Turn On, This Beloved Disney Attraction Turns Into Nightmare Fuel

While it’s not exactly ancient, Walt Disney World isn’t exactly young either. Seeing as the Disney Resort recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, it’s no secret that Walt Disney World, and specifically Magic Kingdom have been around for a long time.

As a result, some of the older attractions in Magic Kingdom can experience technical difficulties and even go down. Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean are two of the most popular attractions that face technical difficulties and break down more often than others.

However, when these attractions break down, Guests are typically excited to see the usually dark spaces lit up, getting a behind-the-scenes look.

But there is one classic Disney attraction that Guests may not want to see with the lights on: Space Mountain.

Did you know that a good way to see the inner workings of the Tomorrowland roller coaster is to ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover? It’s true!

Once you notice that Space Mountain is ‘Temporarily Closed,’ riding the PeopleMover may give you a look at the inside with the lights on.

Space Mountain is known for being a dark indoor coaster. But it is not known for looking so spooky and eerie with the lights on!

All of that machinery tangled together so tightly can look sinister and even dangerous once the lights are on. In truth, there is nothing to worry about and the classic Disney World attraction is perfectly safe.

That being said, this picture gives a whole new meaning to ‘Please keep your arms, hands, legs, and feet inside the vehicle at all times.’
