First Look at Official Map for New ‘Jurassic’ Theme Park Experience
We finally have our first look at one of the maps for an upcoming Jurassic Park theme park experience.
Now that Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) is behind us, having grossed well over $800 million worldwide, fans can finally look forward to the franchise’s next sequel.
However, this time, fans won’t need to rush to movie theaters, as the upcoming installment is a first-person action-adventure video game titled “Jurassic Park: Survival”.
Recently, Universal and Saber Interactive released a behind-the-scenes featurette for the game, which is packed with exciting reveals: we see in-progress dinosaur models, early environment builds, and snippets of gameplay featuring the lead Dr. Maya Joshi (Payal Mistry), the InGen scientist stranded on Isla Nublar after the events of the 1993 film.
But while the video focuses on development insights, which fans have been waiting to see ever since the trailer dropped during the Game Awards in December 2023, it also teases the first look at Isla Nublar’s map.
Key Universal executives and Saber Interactive developers provide commentary throughout the video, explaining how they’ve rebuilt the world seen on screen in the original film. But amid all those exciting reveals, eagle-eyed fans have spotted something else entirely — a brief glimpse of the island’s topography.
Watch the new behind-the-scenes video below:
At the 3:28 mark, Dr. Maya Joshi can be seen holding a device displaying the surrounding terrain, effectively giving us our first look at an in-game Isla Nublar map.
Whether this will be the game’s equivalent to the standard pause-menu map is unclear (it’s more than likely an additional map), but either way, its inclusion suggests navigation and exploration will play a much bigger role than in previous Jurassic titles.

A functional in-game map could be essential to that immersion, especially as Saber has promised never-before-seen areas only hinted at on screen.
For longtime Jurassic fans, the chance to explore the island beyond what the film revealed — guided by an official map — could be one of the game’s biggest draws.
This isn’t the first time fans have been given reason to think “Jurassic Park: Survival” will dive deeper than nostalgia, though. The game, set 24 hours after Spielberg’s original film, puts players in Joshi’s shoes as she navigates a “fully realized Isla Nublar,” (per the official website) where she must avoid deadly dinosaurs and “other surprising threats.”
The featurette also confirms that the development team is building the island from the ground up, working closely with Amblin to ensure every detail feels authentic.
“Jurassic Park: Survival” doesn’t yet have a release date, but if this early map tease is anything to go by, players can expect an experience that treats Isla Nublar less like a movie set and more like a living, breathing world.
There’s no release date for “Jurassic Park: Survival”. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
