Disney Removes Halloween Parade From Theme Park Entertainment Lineup in 2026
Oogie Boogie Bash fans returning to Disney California Adventure Park this fall will find an unfortunate gap in the annual Disneyland Resort Halloween event’s entertainment lineup: the Frightfully Fun parade.
The Frightfully Fun Parade Won’t Be Back This Year
When Disney Parks Blog published its full breakdown of the 2026 Halloween season at Disneyland Resort on Tuesday, one familiar name was missing from the Oogie Boogie Bash entertainment roster: the Frightfully Fun Parade. Disneyland Resort has confirmed the parade will not run during the 2026 event season, likely due to ongoing construction of a Coco (2017)-inspired attraction near one of the gates the parade typically uses at Disney California Adventure Park.
The Frightfully Fun Parade has been one of Oogie Boogie Bash’s most anticipated offerings for years, sending the Headless Horseman, Ichabod Crane, Disney Villains, and characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) through the park in a procession that’s difficult to replicate in any other format. Both Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman will still appear at this year’s event — Ichabod roaming the park at scheduled times each night, evading his pursuer — but outside of the parade context.
A New Experience Steps In
Rather than leave the gap unfilled, Disneyland Resort has developed a new entertainment offering designed to carry some of the weight the parade’s absence creates. “Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party” debuts at Oogie Boogie Bash this year.

The street party is expected to incorporate elements from the Haunted Mansion float that appeared in the Frightfully Fun Parade, bringing rare characters from the iconic Disneyland Park attraction into Disney California Adventure Park. What remains unknown is whether Disney will find a way to weave in characters and themes from other parade floats elsewhere throughout the Oogie Boogie Bash experience.
The Rest of the Oogie Boogie Bash Lineup
Beyond the street party, the Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 roster includes the return of Radiator Screams in Cars Land, the Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark overlay in Avengers Campus, and “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land. A D23 Member-exclusive Oogie Boogie Bash event is also new to the calendar this year, scheduled for September 27.
The broader Halloween Time celebration at Disneyland Resort runs from August 21 through October 31, 2026. Plaza de la Familia continues through November 2 at Disney California Adventure Park. Oogie Boogie Bash tickets go on sale June 18.
