A First-Ever Haunted Mansion Change Is Coming to Disneyland

Every year we say we are going to be calm about Oogie Boogie Bash announcements. Every year Disney drops the details and we immediately start mapping out which nights have the best snack lineups and whether the Dessert Party treats are worth the add-on cost. So here we are again, not calm, fully invested, and ready to walk you through everything Disney just confirmed for the 2026 event.

The short version: thirty-three nights at Disney California Adventure, a brand new Haunted Mansion street party headlining the entertainment, a Dessert Party with Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas themed treats, Villains Grove returning, the Headless Horseman still out there doing what he does, and tickets going on sale in June. The long version is below and it is worth reading before you try to buy anything.

The Dates, All of Them

Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 runs August 18 through October 31 at Disney California Adventure. Thirty-three select nights. Party hours are 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., but ticket holders get into the park starting at 3 p.m., which is genuinely useful and worth taking advantage of.

The schedule runs mostly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays before landing on Halloween night itself, Saturday, October 31. September 27 is the D23 Members-only evening, available exclusively through D23.com.

Full calendar: August 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 30. September 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29. October 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, 31.

When to Buy Tickets and How the Pre-Sale Works

Tickets go on sale June 18, 2026, no earlier than 9 a.m. PST for the general public. But Magic Key Holders get in earlier, and if you hold a key, using that window is the smart play.

Inspire Magic Key Holders get first access on June 16 with a limited pre-sale. All Magic Key Holders get pre-sale access June 17, also limited. General public goes June 18. The D23 Members-only night on September 27 is on sale June 16 through D23.com.

A few things worth knowing here. Pre-sale tickets are limited, which means early access does not guarantee you get the date you want, just that you have a better shot than waiting for June 18. October dates sell fastest. Halloween night, October 31, is historically the first to go. If you are eyeing anything in the back half of the calendar, treat your earliest access window as the actual deadline, not a nice-to-have.

The New Entertainment: A Haunted Mansion Street Party

Okay, this is the part that has the Disney fan community genuinely excited, and for good reason.

“Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake — A Haunted Mansion Street Party” is brand new for 2026, and the premise is exactly as good as it sounds. Madame Leota hosts a spirited séance and swinging wake on the streets of California Adventure, complete with happy haunts, ghostly dancing, and multiple show-stopping moments throughout. Disney says it will beckon all 999 ghosts, which is a commitment to the Haunted Mansion bit that we fully respect.

If you want to watch the street party with snacks and a dedicated viewing area, the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party is available as an add-on purchase. This year’s Dessert Party features a new selection of treats themed to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is already the correct decision. Reservations and full details will open on Disneyland.com later this summer. We will cover those treats the moment the menu drops, because obviously we will.

Everything Else Happening That Night

The new street party is the headliner but the rest of the Oogie Boogie Bash experience is what keeps people coming back year after year.

Villains Grove transforms Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into an immersive nighttime environment built around Disney villains including the Queen of Hearts and Dr. Facilier. If you have walked through it before you already know what it does at night with Disney’s lighting and sound design working together. If you have not, put it near the top of your list. It is one of those things that photographs beautifully and feels even better in person.

Trick-or-treating runs along immersive treat trails throughout the park during party hours, and themed food and drinks are available exclusively to party guests. Characters and villains who do not appear during regular park operation show up throughout California Adventure for meet-and-greets and photo opportunities. Some of the character appearances at Oogie Boogie Bash are genuinely rare and worth seeking out specifically.

And at select times during the evening, Ichabod Crane rushes through California Adventure with the Headless Horseman pursuing him on horseback. It is one of the more theatrical moments the event produces and worth catching at least once during the night. Position yourself somewhere along the route before it starts if you want a good view.

Disney Parks posted on X, “Something wickedly fun is on the way 🎃 Disneyland Resort reveals new Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Halloween outfits, Oogie Boogie Bash tickets officially on sale June 18 and more!🕸️http://di.sn/6019B8cnE7

Halloween Time returns to Disneyland Resort from Aug. 21–Oct. 31, and Plaza de la Familia returns to Disney California Adventure Aug. 21–Nov. 2”

How to Actually Plan a Trip Around This

Here is the food blogger honest truth about Oogie Boogie Bash trip planning: the biggest mistake people make is treating it like a regular Disneyland visit they can figure out later. It is not. Every piece of it requires advance action and the pieces compound on each other.

Tickets first, everything else immediately after. The window between securing your party ticket and booking your hotel should be as short as possible. Disneyland area hotels fill up during Halloween season, especially for October dates and weekends. Leaving accommodations for after you have confirmed your ticket is a habit that tends to cost people their preferred hotel options.

The 3 p.m. early entry is not just a perk, it is part of the value. Using those afternoon hours before the party starts means you get a full day at California Adventure on top of the five-hour party window from 6 to 11. That is a long, full day of Disney in the best possible season. Factor it into your plans rather than treating the party as a standalone evening event.

On the food side specifically, Oogie Boogie Bash has historically delivered some of the best themed treats of any Disneyland special event. The party-exclusive snack offerings are worth budgeting for in addition to your ticket cost. We will have full coverage of the 2026 food and beverage lineup as soon as it is released, which based on past years will happen a few weeks before the event begins.

If the Dessert Party is on your radar, reservations tend to fill up quickly once they open. Set a reminder for when Disneyland.com updates later this summer.
