Next ‘Jurassic Park’ Installment Will Be Perfect for Fans Who Hated Rebirth
Jurassic Park has roared back into the spotlight once again. Between thrilling theme park attractions and major cinematic releases, the franchise remains one of Universal’s most enduring. However, its latest film, Jurassic World Rebirth (2025), despite grossing over $850 million worldwide, left many fans and critics cold.
Not only did the film squander the promise of dinosaurs coexisting with humanity, a concept begging for proper exploration, but it also suffered from a shoddy script and underdeveloped characters, which left audiences feeling deeply unsatisfied.
But now, Universal and Saber Interactive are offering some redemption — not on the big screen, but on Isla Nublar itself. “Jurassic Park: Survival”, a first-person action-adventure game, could be exactly what fans have been waiting for: a return to the terror and wonder of the original park, as seen in Steven Spielberg’s iconic 1993 blockbuster masterpiece.

The game was first unveiled at The Game Awards in December 2023, followed by a behind-the-scenes featurette this past summer. Set 24 hours after the original film, “Jurassic Park: Survival” follows Dr. Maya Joshi (voiced and performed in motion capture by Payal Mistry), an InGen scientist who failed to evacuate with all the other workers.
Trapped among the ruins of the Visitor Center, an empty hotel resort, and the dense tropical jungle, and beyond, she must fight to stay alive as dinosaurs reclaim the island. Watch the video below:

Gameplay footage promises breathtaking authenticity — from adaptive dinosaur A.I. to thrilling encounters. Unlike the “Jurassic World Evolution” series, which focuses on park management, “Survival” throws players directly into the chaos, making them experience Isla Nublar’s danger first-hand.
It’s an ambitious undertaking and one that might just bring fans back after Rebirth’s missteps. By returning to the essence of the original — isolation, suspense, and awe — “Jurassic Park: Survival” could remind the world why this franchise captured imaginations in the first place.
There’s no release date yet, but when it finally drops on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, “Survival” could mark the moment Jurassic Park becomes truly thrilling again.
