While HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter reboot continues to make headlines, fans will have another way to experience J.K. Rowling’s magical universe long before the new series premieres. Audible has officially announced “Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions,” an ambitious reimagining of the seven-book saga featuring a high-profile cast and immersive Dolby Atmos sound design.

The project introduces a spellbinding lineup of stars stepping into Hogwarts’ most famous roles. Hugh Laurie leads as Albus Dumbledore, joined by Riz Ahmed as Severus Snape, Michelle Gomez as Minerva McGonagall, and Matthew Macfadyen taking on Tom Riddle and Lord Voldemort. Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton voice the iconic trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione—with Stanton also reprising the role in HBO’s forthcoming adaptation.

Audible promises a cinematic listening experience unlike anything before. “These brand-new productions of the original seven stories by J.K. Rowling will showcase the listening experiences as never heard before,” the company said, “offering immersive audio entertainment through high-quality sound design in Dolby Atmos, stunning scoring, captivating performances from A-list actors, original music, and real-world sound capture.”

As Deadline revealed, Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley joins as Professor Dolores Umbridge, a character previously brought to life by Imelda Staunton in the films. She’s joined by an equally dynamic ensemble that includes Kit Harington as Professor Lockhart, Iwan Rheon as Professor Lupin, Ruth Wilson as Bellatrix Lestrange, and James McAvoy as Mad-Eye Moody. Other additions include Simon Pegg as Arthur Weasley, Gemma Whelan as Professor Sprout, Matt Berry as Sir Cadogan, and Ambika Mod as Nymphadora Tonks.

Newly confirmed cast members continue to broaden the world’s soundscape. Variety reports that Bill Nighy, who portrayed Rufus Scrimgeour in the Harry Potter films, will now voice Professor Slughorn. Additional roles feature David Holmes as Stan Shunpike, Saoirse-Monica Jackson as Professor Trelawney, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Sirius Black, Anna Maxwell Martin as Rita Skeeter, and Mackenzie Crook as Kreacher.

Rounding out the cast are Stephen Mangan as Nearly Headless Nick, Tracy-Ann Oberman as Madam Hooch, and Millie Gubby as Luna Lovegood. Draco Malfoy will be voiced by Jude Farrant in the first three books, with Maximus Evans taking over in later installments. Neville Longbottom will be split between Jake Sigsworth and Archie Mountain, while Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis take over the lead trio beginning with “Goblet of Fire.”

Neil Blair, Chairman of Pottermore Publishing, praised the ambitious production, calling it a “sophisticated, immersive audio experience.” He added, “J.K. Rowling’s storytelling lends itself perfectly to the application of new audiobook technologies… this sophisticated, immersive audio experience will not only add a new listening dimension for existing fans but will introduce a whole new generation of listeners to the Wizarding World.”

The rollout begins with “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” on November 4, 2025, followed by each book monthly through “Deathly Hallows” in May 2026.
