There were a lot of exciting announcements made today regarding the future happenings at Disneyland Resort. Not only are the Disneyland Forever fireworks, Fantasmic, and Main Street Electrical Parade returning, but a new show called ‘Tale of the Lion King’ will be taking over the Fantasyland Theater — and that’s just at Disneyland Park. California Adventure will see the highly-anticipated return of World of Color, as well as the return of the popular DCA Food and Wine Festival and the Lunar New Year Celebration.
While official start dates have not been given for Disneyland Forever, Fantasmic, or the Main Street Electrical Parade, we do know that another popular event will also be returning right after the New Year. Disney has confirmed that Mickey’s Mix Magic will return to Disneyland Park on January 10, but will only be a limited-time engagement, most likely as long as it takes Disney to prep for the return of Disneyland Forever.
Here is more information on Mickey’s Mix Magic from the Disneyland Resort website:
Rock your world at Mickey’s Mix Magic, an extravaganza bursting with magical song tracks, kaleidoscopic projections and exciting lights and lasers guaranteed to electrify your soul!
The scene is set as state-of-the-art projections, lighting and lasers turn Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle and the façade of “it’s a small world” into dazzling displays of sight, sound and color.
On select nights, fantastical fireworks will add a pinch more pixie dust to the occasion. Attendees will be catapulted into a fun, family-friendly dance party sure to transform Disneyland Park into one of the greatest celebrations for Mickey and Minnie.
Mickey’s Mix Magic first premiered at Disneyland Park in January 2019 as part of Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday celebration, and it remained a staple show for six months. The show ended in June and Disneyland Forever fireworks — which originally premiered in 2015 for the Park 60th Anniversary celebration — returned until Halloween. Mickey’s Mix Magic returned to the Park after the holidays ended in early January and remained until the Parks closed because of the pandemic.
