Mickey Mouse Wardrobe Malfunction Ruins the Magic for 10,000 Disney World Guests
A minor wardrobe mishap caused quite a stir during a recent Fantasmic! performance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Sorcerer Mickey Mouse briefly lost control of his costume head in front of the audience, giving nearly 10,000 a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of Disney magic in action.
Disney Parks fans know Mickey Mouse uses magical “mouse holes” to travel seamlessly across Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Of course, as adults, we also realize that he has help from human cast members… Unfortunately, during this performance, reality set in for many younger Disney Park guests.

According to a video shared by TikTok user @user75775674346, the wardrobe malfunction happened near the end of the show, right after Mickey Mouse defeated Maleficent and reclaimed his imagination. The costume head slipped off the performer for a few moments, but they quickly secured it before it could fall to the stage or off the elevated platform.

Seconds later, pyrotechnics activated to help Mickey Mouse “magically” disappear and reappear in another part of the stage, and the show continued uninterrupted. The Disney character performer reattached the head and completed the choreography without further issues.

Many guests may not have noticed the slip, as Mickey Mouse is positioned far from the audience at this point in Fantasmic!. However, it was likely a moment that this Disney character performer won’t soon forget.
Despite the wardrobe malfunction, the show continued as planned. Walt Disney World Resort did not issue a public statement about this incident.
