Mickey Mouse Gives up on Florida and California, Heads Northeast
This week, Mickey Mouse traded in his familiar Florida and California homes for a new adventure in Pennsylvania. The iconic Disney character recently left his usual stomping grounds at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort to make his way to Williamsport for a very special event: the Little League World Series.
Known for delighting fans in Disney parks and appearing in film and television, Mickey and Minnie Mouse are no strangers to traveling beyond their usual homes. Every year, the duo brings joy to crowds across the country, from helping light up Chicago’s Magnificent Mile to celebrating Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary by traveling in a Disneyland70-themed hot air balloon across Texas.
From August 13 to 24, 2025, Mickey was in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, bringing a touch of Disney magic to the Little League World Series. This year, ESPN, a company under the Walt Disney umbrella, partnered with the Little League World Series to create a magical experience for fans. Guests had the opportunity to snap photos with Mickey at an ESPN Sports Forever photo op and take home exclusive ESPN x Little League Baseball Mickey Mouse pins or ESPN Sports Forever temporary tattoos. And of course, there were surprise meet-and-greets with Mickey himself—dressed in his baseball uniform, ready for the big game.
Mickey didn’t just make a cameo—he took part in the festivities by throwing out the first pitch, just like he did in 2024. On Sunday, August 24, fans gathered as Mickey took to the mound at the Little League World Series for the ceremonial pitch. X (formerly Twitter) user @DrewDisneyDude shared this video of Mickey’s big throw with his followers:
Now pitching at the Little League World Series: Mickey Mouse! ⚾️
The Little League World Series has been broadcast by ABC, a Disney-owned network, since 1963. This year, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) took home the title, defeating Nevada in the final game for the country’s first victory since 1996. In 2024, the winning team celebrated with a parade at Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom, and it remains to be seen if this tradition will continue this year.
