Marvel Confirms “Daredevil” Series Is Being Rebooted Ahead of ‘Born Again’ Season 2 Release
A new chapter for Matt Murdock, AKA Daredevil, is officially underway.

Marvel’s Daredevil
Daredevil’s path through the Marvel landscape has been anything but ordinary. What began as a dark, street-level series on Netflix from 2015 to 2018 has now returned as a fully integrated Disney+ revival with Daredevil: Born Again. The original show carved out a unique space within the Marvel universe, earning praise for its intense fight choreography, nuanced character arcs, and grounded storytelling that contrasted sharply with Marvel’s larger-than-life cinematic offerings.
Despite its acclaim, Netflix’s cancellation in 2018 surprised many fans. Sources indicate the decision stemmed from a combination of production costs, licensing issues, and Disney’s plans to launch its own streaming platform.

When rights returned to Marvel in 2022, the studio began carefully reintegrating Daredevil characters into the MCU. Charlie Cox reprised Matt Murdock in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, while Vincent D’Onofrio returned as Kingpin in Hawkeye, signaling a larger return on the horizon.
That return became Daredevil: Born Again, announced in 2022 as a hybrid reboot-continuation. Production, however, was interrupted by the 2023 Writers’ Strike. Marvel used the downtime to reassess early footage, leading to significant changes: original writers and several directors were replaced, the tone was adjusted to align more closely with the Netflix series, and the planned 18-episode run was divided into two nine-episode seasons.
New episodes were written, a new pilot was filmed, and key cast members—including Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson—returned. Even recasting decisions, such as the role of Vanessa Fisk, were reversed to maintain continuity.

Daredevil: Born Again premiered in March 2025, presenting a story set after the Netflix finale. Retired, Matt Murdock is pulled back into conflict as Wilson Fisk advances politically, tightening his control over New York. The series balances mature crime-drama elements with full integration into the MCU, making it one of Marvel’s most anticipated streaming returns despite its tumultuous production history.
Marvel Restarts the “Daredevil” Series Again
As Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again gears up for next year, Marvel Comics is launching a new take on the Man Without Fear, described as a version that will “redefine” the character.
“Following in the footsteps of legendary creative teams from the title’s esteemed history, [Stephanie Phillips] and [Lee Garbett] set out to redefine Daredevil for a new age!” Marvel writes in its announcement. “A fresh start that’s perfect for newcomers and longtime fans alike, the new run sees Matt Murdock confront unprecedented challenges—both in his personal life as Matt Murdock and on the dangerous streets of Hell’s Kitchen as Daredevil.”

The reboot will also explore Matt Murdock’s return to education. “Matt will go back to school, taking on a new role as a law professor just as a new super villain named Omen emerges with a mysterious vendetta against his super hero alter ego,” Marvel added.
On teaming with Lee Garbett, writer Stephanie Phillips said: “I’m taking on one of my favorite characters with one of my favorite artists, and together we’re exploring Daredevil’s noir sensibilities […] Lee Garbett brings so much style and emotion to every page, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner to bring this version of Daredevil to life.”

Touted as “an all-new era of Daredevil” and a version of the Man Without Fear “never seen before,” “Daredevil #1” will hit comic shops on March 18, 2026. Disney+ will premiere Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on March 4, 2026, with a third season already confirmed for development as of September 2025.

If it becomes even more woke than it already is, I just won’t be watching it.
Woke is just another word for respectful, grow up!
Agreed.
Go woke go broke.
Will they ever learn their lesson?
So. You can bring back daredevil, but you can’t bring back Luke Cage?, wow!!!!!!
Because his solo show was boring as hell.
It’s not so dark and dare as the netflix series but even so it is a talented show compared with the Dysney children movies of one bad joke each 2 minutes. Crossing fingers that this best by far show of Marvel keeps its incredible journey.
This is very OLD NEWS.
INSTEAD OF SO MUCH TALK AND RUMOURS, Please ask DISNEY+ which lacks of so much originality, to bring back all of the Defenders. Also, I cancelled my subscription because there is nothing new to see. Seasons take years to air. I can’t stand it.
I think recreating Daredevil is so exciting. I was glad to hear they revived it. I just love the story line and Charlie Cox. The way they connect all the other Marvel characters in the story line. Any thoughts about bringing Luke Cage back? My name sake.
