Disney just rolled out major changes to one of its most cherished dining spots, and fans are already buzzing.
The overhaul took effect on July 16, 2025, and includes not only new entrees and desserts, but also some noticeable updates to old favorites. If you’re the kind of guest who orders “the usual,” it’s time to get reacquainted with the menu.
Fresh Additions That Raise the Bar
Let’s start with what’s completely new. One of the stars of the updated menu is the Endive and Walnut Salad, made with Roquefort cheese, radicchio, green apple slices, and champagne vinaigrette. It’s fresh, crunchy, and far more refined than your average theme park salad.
Then there’s the Pan-Roasted Arctic Char—a sleek, modern fish entrée that comes with roasted potatoes, charred tomatoes, and a citrus-caper brown butter. It’s the kind of dish you’d expect to find at a signature dining restaurant, not just inside a themed castle.
And of course, no Disney meal is complete without dessert. The Crème Brûlée Tart combines orange custard, passion fruit meringue, and chantilly cream into a dessert that’s as pretty as it is delicious. But if you’re craving nostalgia, don’t worry—the new Blooming Rose dessert features “The Grey Stuff” on top of a chocolate cake. Disney knows how to please the purists.
Familiar Dishes Get a Twist
Not everything is new—but even returning dishes have had some tweaks. The French Onion Soup, for instance, now uses Swiss cheese instead of gruyère. It’s a small swap, but one that will definitely change the flavor profile.
The Poulet Rouge Chicken got a full makeover. Gone are the sweet potatoes and mustard sauce. Instead, the dish now features roasted potatoes, a stewed pepper pipérade, and a creamy sweet corn velouté.
Even the plant-based Mixed Greens Salad has changed. Disney removed the goat cheese mousse and swapped out the tomato vinaigrette for a dijon one, simplifying the dish for vegan and health-conscious diners.
Interestingly, Steak Frites was mentioned in Disney Eats’ announcement but remains unchanged on the official menu. It’s still there—and still a favorite.
A Strategic Move—or a Risky One?
The menu update feels like part of a larger pattern. Across Walt Disney World, Disney has been modernizing food offerings with more seasonal and upscale options. But changes to fan-favorite restaurants like Be Our Guest always come with risks. People don’t just dine here for the food—they come for the comfort of traditions and the memories they’ve made.
And while the changes have mostly been well-received, a few longtime fans are raising eyebrows. “We always come here for our anniversary,” one commenter wrote online. “But part of what made it special was that we knew exactly what to expect. Now I’m not sure how I feel.”
Still, others are celebrating the evolution. “Honestly, the old menu was getting tired,” another guest said. “This feels fresh. It gives us a reason to come back.”
Is It Still Worth Booking?
Absolutely—but with a caveat. If you haven’t been to Be Our Guest in a while, this update might surprise you. The atmosphere is still pure Disney magic, but the new dishes are leaning more toward modern fine dining.
That’s not a bad thing. But for families who just want a kid-friendly experience inside the Beast’s castle, it might not be the same slam dunk it once was. That said, if you love food as much as fantasy, this new chapter could be your favorite yet.
Whether you’re dining in the Ballroom, the West Wing, or the Castle Gallery, expect the same immersive experience—but don’t expect the same exact flavors you remember.
