Although Walt Disney World Resort, A.K.A. the Most Magical Place on Earth, has four different Disney Parks, it’s clear that Magic Kingdom is the Disney Park with the most magic and classic attractions.

The Magic Kingdom Park is home to rides such as the Haunted Mansion, the Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, “it’s a small world,” and more.

However, one of the most beloved Magic Kingdom attractions has been closed all morning, and we’re not sure why!

Walt Disney World Resort’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is currently listed as ‘Temporarily Closed’ on the Disney World Mobile App. Because this closure is only listed on the app and not on the official Disney World website, we can assume that this classic dark ride will open soon.

The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction opened in 1973, and it’s been delighting Guests ever since. That means this ride has been operating nonstop for decades, which is more than enough time for some wear and tear to accumulate.

Occasionally, technical issues can come up that cannot be quickly resolved. Is this one of those times? Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing exactly why this attraction is ‘Temporarily Closed,’ nor do we know when it will reopen.

That being said, if it were closed for an extended period or refurbishment, Disney would likely release an announcement letting Guests know.
