Magic Kingdom Guests Run From Flood as Water Cascades Through Park

Heavy rainfall on July 1, 2025, led to severe flooding throughout parts of Magic Kingdom Park. Videos shared on social media by several Walt Disney World Resort guests showed water rushing through the park and flooding walkways.

It’s no secret that Central Florida is prone to frequent rainstorms, particularly during the summer months, leading to hurricane season. While a quick rain shower can offer relief from the scorching heat, some days, the rainfall is far more intense than usual, leading to situations like the one on July 1. Magic Kingdom Park, known for its beautiful but sometimes flood-prone pathways, struggled to keep up with the deluge.

This time, Tomorrowland seemed to bear the brunt of the flooding. The futuristic-themed land of the park, home to Space Mountain, was particularly affected as floodwaters cascaded through the area. Guests shared clips on social media showing water flowing through the Magic Kingdom Park land, with some visibly running to avoid getting soaked.

One TikTok user, @michrobich91, posted a video showing the Space Mountain and TRON Lightcycle / Run gift shop, Tomorrowland Launch Depot. “Not letting the rain stand in our way,” the caption read.

While some Walt Disney World Resort guests ran to take cover from the relentless rain, others made the most of the waterlogged situation. Several kids were seen playing in the floodwaters, turning the unexpected rainfall into an impromptu water park experience.

Another video, shared by @kates_takes_, provided an aerial view of the flooding captured from the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. “It’s raining, it’s pouring and Magic Kingdom is floooding! The rain came down so bad that the water was over my shoes,” the Disney Park guest wrote.

Although flooding in Magic Kingdom Park is not uncommon during summer storms, it typically clears up within a few hours. However, if you’re planning to visit Walt Disney World Resort soon, be prepared for anything. Pack your poncho just in case—even if there’s no rain in the forecast. You’ll definitely thank us later!
