‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ Update—Here’s What the Original Star Just Announced

The production of Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) has reached a significant milestone.

The seventh film in the Jurassic Park franchise boasts an impressive cast led by Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) star Scarlett Johansson, who plays covert operations expert Zora Bennett. Supporting actors include Jonathan Bailey (Dr. Henry Loomis), Mahershala Ali (Duncan Kincaid), and Rupert Friend (Martin Krebs), among many others.

The crew is also bolstered by many big names, including, David Koepp, the original screenwriter of Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), and seasoned producers like Frank Marshall and executive producer Steven Spielberg.

The timeline for the film has been notably swift, with announcements and significant production milestones occurring within a short span. Filming commenced earlier in the year, with reports indicating a “fast-tracked” schedule aimed at meeting a July 2, 2025, release date.

The official synopsis claims that the film takes “an ingenious new direction” while promising “a sinister, shocking secret that’s been kept hidden from the world for decades.”

Jurassic World Rebirth is set five years following the events of the latest sequel, Jurassic World Dominion (2022). The film explores a world where the planet’s ecology has become inhospitable for dinosaurs, forcing their isolation in unique environments.

The plot centers on Zora, who is tasked with extracting DNA from the three largest dinosaurs that ever existed, which certainly sets the stage for high-stakes encounters. However, as Zora and her team delve deeper into their mission, they make a shocking discovery.

Jurassic World Rebirth is on track to be a landmark project that not only introduces thrilling new trajectories but also pays homage to the enduring saga of Jurassic Park. With strong themes, compelling characters, and the promise of breath-taking visuals, it is poised to engage both long-time fans and new audiences alike.

Jurassic World Rebirth will be released in theaters worldwide on July 2, 2025.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Endgame), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), Rupert Friend (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Mahershala Ali (The Green Book), Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (Dead Boy Detectives), Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs Lopez), Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).
