‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Confirms Universal Studios Ride Involvement

The second trailer for the highly anticipated Jurassic World Rebirth has arrived. Directed by Gareth Edwards, best known for Godzilla (2014) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the latest installment of the Jurassic franchise is gearing up for an explosive 2025 release.

Scarlett Johansson takes center stage in the film, playing Zora Bennett, a covert ops expert whose team must retrieve critical genetic material from a group of super-sized dinosaurs. Set on an entirely new island, the characters face deadly threats as they encounter both terrifying new mutant dinosaurs and a “sinister, shocking” discovery.

Jurassic fans will recall that the first official trailer revealed the franchise’s first-ever mutant dinosaur, which perhaps sets the stage for what looks to be a darker, more intense chapter in the series. Unfortunately, the new trailer isn’t overflowing with fresh footage–instead, it refines the earlier release, giving us a sharper look into the high-stakes plot.

The first trailer was met with mixed reactions due to its focus on humor, which some fans felt detracted from the suspense. The latest teaser seems to refocus on the intensity, though many are still wondering whether the film will lean more into action or horror.

More recent buzz around the film centers on a CinemaCon 2025 reveal (per a Collider exclusive)—where footage revealed that Rebirth will feature a fire-breathing T-Rex, a plot point that’s sure to captivate fans eager for more sci-fi dinosaur antics, as bizarre as it is. While the fire-breathing T-Rex was not shown in the new trailer, it still has fans talking.

But what we do see more of in the new trailer is the highly anticipated T-Rex river scene, which the film’s screenwriter David Koepp previously revealed is lifted straight from the “Jurassic Park” novel by Michael Crichton (with, of course, different characters this time). The nail-biting sequence in question also inspired the real-world, water-based Jurassic attractions at Universal Studios, from Jurassic Park: The Ride to Jurassic World: The Ride.
