We cover a lot of theme park news around here. New rides, new snacks, new merch, closures that break our hearts. But every once in a while, the story that gets fans the most fired up comes from somewhere you would never expect.

Right now, that somewhere is the parking garage.
If you have been to Universal Orlando, you already know the garage is not just a garage. Each section is named after a famous film, and each one has its own soundtrack piped through the speakers. It is part wayfinding, part pre-show, and plenty of fans have a favorite.
For many of them, that favorite is Jurassic Park. Park your car, hear that John Williams theme kick in, and suddenly a routine walk to CityWalk feels like the opening of a blockbuster.
Now that section is getting a makeover, and the new name is not one anybody saw coming.
The Need-to-Know, Fast

Short on time? Here is the scoop in five bites.
- What is changing: The Jurassic Park section of Universal Orlando’s parking garage is being renamed Trolls.
- How we know: Photos posted to Reddit show the new signage going up while the work is underway.
- What it means for your ears: Each section plays music tied to its theme, so the Jurassic Park score is likely on its way out in that area.
- What is staying (for now): The other sections are themed to King Kong, Jaws, Spider-Man, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and The Cat in the Hat.
- Official word: We have not seen a statement from Universal about the switch yet.
The Reddit poster put it plainly: “Apparently the garages are getting new section names. This was previously Jurassic park.”

Wait, Isn’t Jurassic Park Kind of a Big Deal Right Now?

Yes. Very much so.
Over at Islands of Adventure, the franchise has a whole island. That includes Jurassic World VelociCoaster, Pteranodon Flyers, Camp Jurassic, the Jurassic Park Discovery Center, and Raptor Encounter.
And then there is the big one. Jurassic Park River Adventure, an opening day ride from May 1999, has been closed since January 5, 2026, for a refurbishment that has taken up most of the year. Universal originally planned to reopen it on November 19, but the date has since moved to December 17, 2026, per Inside Universal. Refurb dates can always change, so keep an eye on the official calendar before your trip.
Translation: Universal is clearly still invested in its dinosaurs. That is exactly why this garage swap has fans scratching their heads.
Okay, So Where Do the Trolls Fit In?

Right now, Trolls lives in DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios Florida. The family-friendly area opened June 14, 2024, and features Trolls Trollercoaster as its one and only ride. Fun fact: the coaster uses the track from the former Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster.
On the movie side, the franchise includes Trolls (2016), Trolls World Tour (2020), and Trolls Band Together (2023).
So yes, Trolls has a home at the resort. It is just a much smaller one than Jurassic Park’s.
The Comments Section Did Not Hold Back
Fans on Reddit had a lot to say, and most of it boiled down to a simple plea to leave Jurassic Park alone. Here are a few of the reactions that stood out to us.
The heartbroken: “Losing that iconic score for a slop movie like this is criminal. Walking from your car while hearing that music ALWAYS gets me excited for a park day.”
The confused: “What the??? Why??? Who asked for this? Trolls??? The Jurassic Park music in the lot was always so nice :(”
The reasonable negotiator: “Changing Jaws and Kong I get; Jurassic to Trolls is a choice.”
The honest one: “this is actually something im getting irrationally upset over i loved hearing the trex roar echo through the garage 😭 if they touch the ET section..”
The music critic: “I don’t know any songs from Trolls but just die a little imagining some crappy pop slop blasting on the speakers.”
The pun master: “They have to be trolling.”
The practical thinker: “Imagine you parked in Jurassic Park and then can’t find your car when you leave since they’re doing this midday.”
The passholder on the edge: “My UOAP now in jeopardy over this.”
One commenter even tossed out a full prediction of future sections, including Minions, Fast & Furious, Shrek, and Harry Potter. To be clear, that is pure fan speculation and nothing has been announced.
Our Two Cents (and Your Turn)
Is it the end of the world? No. Is it a little sad to imagine walking out of the garage without that famous theme playing overhead? Honestly, yes.
We will be watching to see what else changes in the garage and what music ends up filling the new Trolls section. If more names start shifting, we will keep you posted.
Now we have to ask. Where do you land on this one? Are you Team Jurassic, Team Trolls, or just Team Please Help Me Find My Car? Tell us in the comments, and if you snap a photo of the new signs on your next visit, send it our way. We would love to see it.
