‘Jurassic Park’ “Remake” Digitally De-Ages Original Actors

For more than three decades, the Jurassic Park franchise has balanced groundbreaking dinosaur effects with a cast of human characters who became just as recognizable as the prehistoric creatures themselves. From Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler to Ian Malcolm, these roles helped define the series’ identity across multiple sequels and spin-offs.

The trio’s legacy continued through individual appearances in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park III (2001), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), and most recently Jurassic World Dominion (2022). While the franchise shifted direction with Jurassic World Rebirth (2025), which introduced Scarlett Johansson as part of a new ensemble, the original stars have not completely stepped away from Isla Nublar’s orbit.

A Nostalgic Return With A Comedic Twist

Neill, Dern, and Goldblum have reunited once again, appearing in Xfinity’s Super Bowl commercial Jurassic Park … Works (Extended), ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 8. The ad presents an “alternate” version of the 1993 film, imagining what might have happened if John Hammond’s dinosaur park actually functioned without disaster.

The commercial re-creates several recognizable scenes from Spielberg’s film while shifting the tone toward humor. Ellie is seen running alongside Gallimimus, and Malcolm references his famous delivery with a comedic variation, observing “one big pile of shrimp.” The production also digitally de-ages the three actors, merging new footage with scenes featuring Richard Attenborough’s Hammond and Samuel L. Jackson’s Arnold.

The video’s caption states: “Thanks to Xfinity, Jurassic Park at long last, uh, finds a way. With the help of Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum.” Watch the new ad below:

The Jurassic Park Franchise’s Ongoing Reach

Even as theatrical installments continue to evolve, the original film remains a cornerstone of the series’ popularity.

The franchise now spans seven films that have collectively earned nearly $7 billion worldwide. Outside of cinema, the universe continues through video games, including the park-building Jurassic World Evolution titles, where Goldblum voices Malcolm, and the upcoming narrative-driven Jurassic Park: Survival, set after the events of the first movie.

Industry speculation has pointed toward the possibility of another theatrical entry, with reports suggesting Universal may pursue an eighth installment involving Rebirth director Gareth Edwards and Johansson.

For now, the Super Bowl ad offers audiences a rare chance to see the original trio revisit the roles that helped shape one of Hollywood’s most enduring franchises.

The Super Bowl is on this Sunday, February 8.
