‘Jurassic Park’ (1993) Sequel Will Solve a Longstanding Mystery
When Jurassic Park stomped into theaters in 1993, it rewrote the blockbuster playbook. Steven Spielberg delivered spectacle and suspense in equal measure; however, like most other classics, the film is not without its fair share of mysteries.

Bizarre dinosaur enclosures and animals with mysterious illnesses have kept fans debating for decades. But there’s another mystery that has yet to be resolved.
The film closed with a helicopter escape and a park in ruins, but it left behind a question that has lingered for more than three decades: what happened to the rest of the staff scattered across Isla Nublar?
That mystery is finally being addressed in Jurassic Park: Survival, an upcoming first-person action-adventure title from Saber Interactive.
Set 24 hours after the events of the original film, the game casts players as InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who failed to evacuate during the island-wide shutdown.

The 1993 film shows only a handful of key personnel — Ray Arnold (Samuel L. Jackson), Robert Muldoon (Bob Peck), Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight), and Dr. Henry Wu (BD Wong) — yet we know that there’s a much larger workforce.
Not only do we see other scientists in the background, as well as characters like Dr. Gerry Harding (the vet with the sick Triceratops), Arnold even orders a full evacuation by boat ahead of the incoming storm.
The implication is clear: although John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) is operating a skeleton crew, there are still dozens of employees on site. Now, Joshi’s presence the following day raises obvious questions. Did she miss the announcement? Was she cut off? More importantly, is she alone? Watch the official trailer for the game below:

The official description teases “other surprising threats” beyond the dinosaurs, hinting that additional survivors — or perhaps less friendly forces — are still roaming the island. Familiar predators including the Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptors, and Dilophosaurus are confirmed, but human danger may prove just as significant.
While the film series has largely shifted focus to new parks, corporate rivalries, and global threats, this game narrows its lens to the immediate aftermath of the original park’s collapse. By revisiting a fully explorable Isla Nublar — including recognizable landmarks and previously unseen facilities — Jurassic Park: Survival appears positioned to explore a thread the films never pursued.

When Can I Play Jurassic Park: Survival?
