Heads Up: 10 Disney World Hotel Changes Are Coming This Fall
If you’ve got a Disney World trip booked for this fall, or you’re still deciding where to stay, this list is worth a quick read. Disney resorts are constantly getting refurbished and updated, which is great long-term but can mean construction noise and closed restaurants during your stay. Here’s everything confirmed so far.
The Room Refurbishments to Know About
All-Star Movies started refurbishing its rooms back in May, and that work runs through late January 2027. If you want the same value-resort vibe without the noise, All-Star Music and All-Star Sports are right next door.
Animal Kingdom Lodge just finished up work at Kidani Village in May, but now Jambo House is getting its turn, with construction running through January 2027.
Port Orleans Riverside has the longest timeline of all, with room refurbishments happening in different sections through August 2027. Our suggestion? Book the sister resort, Port Orleans French Quarter, instead. Same amenities, same transportation, plus you’re walking distance to beignets.
The Big Disney World Construction Projects
The Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower both have work running through late 2027, including the Main Tower Atrium and exterior maintenance that might affect views around the resort.
Wilderness Lodge is getting its new Disney Vacation Club property, Lakeshore Lodge, and in the meantime, exterior refurbishments at the Lodge and Copper Creek run through late 2026. The security kiosk is also being expanded through mid-October, so expect occasional lane closures at the entrance.
Grand Floridian construction, including the covered entrance, continues through early 2027. Yacht Club exterior work runs through the end of the year, and Beach Club work goes all the way through late 2027.
The Dining Changes That Might Sting
Grand Floridian Cafe closes in mid-July and reopens later this fall. In the meantime, the brunch at Citricos is a great backup.
Yachtsman Steakhouse closed in early May with a tentative reopening in early September. If you need a steak dinner before then, Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary is excellent, or Ale and Compass keeps you in the Yacht and Beach Club area.
And here’s the fun one. After Jellyrolls closed last year, we finally have a clue about what’s next. A new lounge called Hurly-Burly is coming in late 2026, described as a historic seaside theatre experience with a BoardWalk story spanning over a century. Disney hasn’t confirmed the location, but based on the concept art, the old Jellyrolls building looks like the spot.
The Good News for Disney World
Saratoga Springs is almost done with everything. Treehouse Villas construction wraps in late September, the Turf Club Lounge reopens in late August, and the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course reopens this fall with refurbished greens and upgraded irrigation.
Check your dates, plan around the noise, and book those dinner backups now.
