It’s an exciting day as Disney World has announced the reopening of the only spot on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A. to have remained closed since the pandemic closure.

Though the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort have been open for almost two years following a four-month closure in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Guests in the park continue to experience the reopening of dining venues and experiences and attractions.

Today, Disney announced yet another scheduled reopening, this time at Magic Kingdom‘s Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street.

The Harmony Barber Shop at Magic Kingdom on Town Square has been part of the Walt Disney World Resort since opening day in 1971, offering Guests the chance to experience the world’s most magical haircut, whether it’s a Guest’s first or 101st haircut.

In the past, a limited number of reservations were made available to Guests each day at the Harmony Barber Shop, and occasionally Guests could have a stroke of luck in securing a spot in an open barber chair as a walk-in, though that’s not the norm.

Disney Parks Blog announced today that the Harmony Barber Shop will reopen to Guests on July 31. The sweet, rite-of-passage Disney experience, “My First Haircut” is also returning and will include extra pixie dust just for the little Disney fans of all in celebration of the special occasion and to commemorate Walt Disney World‘s 50th anniversary.

Beginning June 28, a limited number of reservations will be available for booking in the My Disney Experience app. Walk-in haircuts will be available, but only as they are available.

Disney Parks Blog notes the “cheer of yesteryear” and “whimsical nostalgia of a bygone era” experienced by Guests who visit the Harmony Barber Shop. If you haven’t experienced it for yourself or with someone you love, it’s definitely an experience to have, so be sure to make a reservation for your visit before your next Disney World trip!
