Halloween Horror Nights Expands Beyond the Park for Its 35th Year
Halloween Horror Nights has always had a hard edge. Buy a ticket, walk through the gates at Universal Studios Florida, get terrorized for five or six hours, and go home. The event stops where the park stops. Now, yes, sometimes there are small activations at one or two resorts. That has been the deal for decades, and it worked because what happens inside is the entire product.
But the event keeps growing everywhere else. Popular IP houses. Longer runs. Earlier start dates. This year is the 35th anniversary, and the 2026 lineup is one of the biggest ever built, with ten haunted houses split between originals and licensed properties.
Now the edge itself is moving.
This year, the event is growing more than usual; Halloween Horror Nights is spilling past the gates and into the Universal Orlando Resort hotels.
What Hotel Guests Get
The expansion covers nearly every hotel on the property.
New and returning themed bars carry the frights before, during, and after the in-park event.
Every hotel has specialty cocktail menus across its bars with wickedly crafted spirits. Select hotels serve late-night bites for guests dragging back after a night of screams.
Hotel guests also get a priority event entrance to Halloween Horror Nights from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. On an event where entry lines can swallow a chunk of your night, that is not a small perk.
The Halloween Keyholder Bar
Worth its own section.
Hotel guests, Passholders, and Universal Rewards Cardmembers attending Halloween Horror Nights get exclusive access to their own bar inside the event.
The Keyholder Bar sits to the left of the Music Plaza Stage, offering quicker access to cocktails and mocktails.

New for 2026
Three hotels get brand new transformations.
Jake’s American Bar becomes Universal Monsters Laguna Lounge, a classic monster hideaway built on mid-century modern tiki. Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, and others lurk throughout the decor, plus larger-than-life photo ops.
Universal Monsters meets tiki is an unexpected swing, and it fits that resort perfectly.
Universal Stella Nova Resort
A sleek research exhibit at Nova Bar has gone wrong. A mysterious substance breached containment and is creeping and pulsing with a life of its own. Hazmat teams have sealed the area, working urgently to stabilize it before the substance infects everyone and everything.
By day, Luna Bar is a sleek interstellar outpost. By night, it becomes contested ground as two rival alien species who once declared Terra Luna neutral territory go to war. Guests sit inside the turf battle, each species on opposite sides of the bar.

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel
The Thirsty Fish returns for year two. An old fishing ship frozen by a freak ice storm, fishing nets and ropes crusted in ice, the broken mast dangling over the bar, eerie blue glow throughout.
Night of the Living Shred is back for another rancid residency in the lobby and Veranda Bar. The full undead roadie crew returns with more lights, more sights, more frights. More zombies, more band members, and a rock-fueled apocalypse at the Veranda Bar, new this year.
Loews Sapphire Falls Resort
The lower lobby turns into an eerie seaside Gothic Manor, packed with creepy floral sculptures, candelabras, and dark academia touches. New this year is a satellite bar pouring the Witch Doctor Old Fashioned, the Pumpkin Plunder, and the Haunted Jungle Bird, all also at Strong Water Tavern.
Universal Aventura Hotel
Alien overlords have seized barVentura, serving mind-controlling cocktails while trying to abduct guests to their looming mothership.
Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort
Pumpkin Lord Bar returns to Swizzle Lounge, with the theme now expanding into the lobby where more sinister roots wait.
Universal Endless Summer Resort, Dockside Inn & Suites
Spirits from the briny deep have washed ashore at the Sunset Lounge as eerie driftwood sculptures scattered through the space.

Nightmare Fuel goes noir this year with vampires in a seedy metropolis. The lagoon show gets a Stranger Things takeover, projecting memorable scenes across towering water screens.

Halloween Horror Nights runs August 28 through November 1, 2026, at Universal Studios Florida.
