Guitar Disappears From Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Building Ahead of Muppets Retheme
The Aerosmith signage is almost completely gone from the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster show building at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The latest removal brings the Walt Disney World Resort attraction one step closer to its May 26 debut as a Muppets-themed experience.
One Guitar Down

WDWNT reported on April 30 that the guitar-shaped “Rock Around the Shop” sign that had hung above the exit of the post-ride gift shop was pulled down, leaving rolling planters blocking the doorway where it once stood.
The removal marks another piece of the Aerosmith identity stripped from the building as the 27-day countdown to opening day continues. A new Muppets-themed sign for the merchandise location is expected to replace it before the attraction opens.
The guitar removal follows visible progress on the exterior of the show building itself. Scaffolding came down recently, revealing the completed Stratocaster guitar painted in a Muppet-inspired rainbow scheme:
Scaffolding is down at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and the completed Stratocaster guitar is now visible. The final paint scheme runs heavier on pink than the concept art suggested, making it a bigger departure from the Aerosmith era than expected.
