Chaos Ensues After Yet Another Guest Poops All Over ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Attraction

If you’ve ever grumbled about a long attraction queue, just know it could be worse – something Disney California Adventure Park guests recently learned firsthand.

While unexpected things happen every day at theme parks, we’ve covered some truly bizarre happenings at Disney in the past. From trying to scale the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT to streaking naked on “it’s a small world,” some guests have an unerring ability to break through Mickey Mouse’s shiny veneer and wreak absolute havoc on Disney’s theme parks.

Poopgate 2.0 at Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

Let a recent incident at Disney California Adventure Park’s Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! serve as proof.

Guests were left reeling after a rather unexpected situation unfolded in the ride’s queue. According to a Reddit user, a guest allegedly suffered an unfortunate mishap and continued through the line despite the mess, leaving it behind for others to encounter.

“I guess someone pooped themselves and decided to keep walking through so it was on the floor after you leave the first room and up the stairs,” the guest wrote.

According to the guest, the smell was unbearable, forcing cast members to scramble in an effort to address the situation. “The poor cast members were gagging trying to figure it out,” the user noted. “It smelled SO bad.”

Disney staff quickly took action by limiting the number of people entering the area, allowing others to bypass the spot as much as possible. However, for those still in line, the smell lingered all the way up until guests boarded the ride’s elevators. The Reddit user remarked that everyone in line was forced to cover their noses to deal with the overwhelming stench.

While most of the attention around long queues typically focuses on wait times, this incident serves as a reminder of the sometimes messy reality behind crowded attractions. The Reddit user suggested that the unfortunate situation may have been caused by a medical issue, perhaps linked to a guest being denied Disability Access Service (DAS), something that’s become more frequent since Disney updated the system in 2024.

Another guest corroborated this theory, writing: “Disney removed any digestive issues from their either ‘skip the line’ health rule or the ability to hold your place in line and come back, CMs have been instructed to tell people that they should get a wheelchair and be fine waiting. A friend thinks the previous incident was a colostomy bag, which makes sense.”

A Similar Incident at EPCOT

This mishap comes on the heels of another viral incident at Walt Disney World, where guests reported a similar issue.

Earlier this month, chaos struck the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind queue when a guest had a bathroom emergency—right there in line. And yet, despite the shocking scene, the line kept moving.

A TikTok video captured the scene, showing guests visibly stunned, yet continuing to shuffle forward through the mess.

Despite being lengthy, Cosmic Rewind’s queue doesn’t have a restroom, which likely played a huge part in the matter. Guests also perhaps didn’t realize that nearby bathrooms at Connections Eatery and outside Club Cool could have been their salvation.

Flower and garden festival didn’t sit well with somebody 😳 **update: it looks like it might’ve been a colostomy bag that burst in line. Please make Disney aware that DAS should be inclusive to all people with serious medical conditions 🫶🏼#guardiansofthegalaxy #guardians #cosmicrewind #disney #disneyworld #waltdisneyworld

For future emergencies, cast members are always available to grant a quick exit. Even if you do lose your spot in line, it’s still better than the alternative.

  1. Another? Jesus go to the freaking bathroom first before going on any ride at any theme park for the matter so incidents like this won’t happen again or become a trend.
