Disneyland Blocks Restaurant Access for Some of Its Highest-Paying Guests
A flagship dining experience at Disneyland Resort is staying dark longer than expected, leaving some of the resort’s highest-paying guests without access to its acclaimed menu and upscale atmosphere. Napa Rose, the fine-dining restaurant inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, will now remain closed until 2026.
Earlier this year, Disneyland Resort unveiled plans to update all three of its hotels: Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Pixar Place Hotel. Guests have already seen some of the new experiences roll out. At Disneyland Hotel, the High Key Club concierge lounge opened in July, doubling the size of the former E-Ticket Club. Around the same time, Pixar Place Hotel introduced two new luxury suite designs inspired by Coco (2017) and The Incredibles (2004).
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa was set for some of the biggest transformations. In addition to announcing a second two-story club-level lounge to open in 2026, Disneyland Resort also confirmed an extensive redesign of the Napa Rose Table Service dining location.
The restaurant temporarily shut its doors in April, with Disney promising an elegant update blending Craftsman style with modern Californian luxury. Plans included a chandelier inspired by Mission grapevines, a larger exhibition kitchen for live culinary viewing, and a redesigned outdoor patio with expanded seating and two new fireplaces.
Napa Rose also promised guests that while new menu items would be added, fan favorites would remain. At the time, Disneyland Resort said the restaurant would reopen in the fall of 2025.
Now, that timeline has been pushed back. Theme park journalist Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) confirmed on X (formerly known as Twitter):
NEW: Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is now scheduled to reopen in early 2026. It was previously set to reopen in the fall of this year.

The news means that guests paying premium prices for rooms, concierge access, and club-level benefits at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will still be unable to visit its signature restaurant. Other dining options remain available, and the new club-level lounge is still scheduled to debut in 2026.
