If you have ever found yourself orbiting Disney Springs with a virtual queue number burning a hole in your phone, you already understand the gravity of Gideon’s Bakehouse.

Since arriving at Disney Springs in early 2021, Gideon’s Bakehouse has quietly reshaped the district’s food scene. What began as a single storefront in The Landing has evolved into one of Walt Disney World’s most talked-about culinary experiences.

Gideon’s built its reputation on oversized, “almost half-pound” cookies made from scratch. The result is a product that photographs well, travels poorly, and inspires lines that stretch well beyond the storefront.

Success, however, has brought logistical challenges. Crowds regularly swell to the point where a virtual queue becomes necessary, turning cookie runs into carefully timed operations. The system keeps things moving, even if patience remains a prerequisite.

Guests summoned back to the bakery still face a physical line, though Gideon’s insists it “usually only lasts around 15 minutes.” On busy nights, that estimate is tested. The scene can feel chaotic, especially during peak seasons at Disney World.

Some visitors have questioned whether the experience has tipped into excess. Online, the bakery’s popularity has been described in colorful terms, including “outrageous” and “batshit insane.” The enthusiasm, for better or worse, has become part of the brand’s mythology.

That intensity helps explain why Gideon’s appears ready to grow.

A Second Gideon’s Bakehouse Takes Shape

Earlier this month, a permit filed with Orange County sparked immediate speculation. The Notice of Commencement referenced a “New Tenant Build-Out” at 1600 E. Buena Vista Dr., Suite C-22, the former Art of Shaving location at Disney Springs.

The paperwork listed Walt Disney World as the property owner. The client named was The First Raven LLC, the business entity connected to Gideon’s founder, Steve Lewis.

For fans, the implication felt obvious. A second Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs would offer relief for crowds and expand the brand’s footprint within the shopping and dining district.

In recent days, visual clues have added fuel to the rumors. Visitors have reported new artwork appearing behind the windows of the former tenant space, matching Gideon’s dark, gothic-inspired aesthetic.

Among those sharing updates was a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, under the handle @magiccitymayhem.

The imagery reportedly features birds, a crown, and a sword. Notably absent is Gideon’s standard logo, suggesting the concept may diverge slightly from the original storefront.

A sign posted on the door reads, “Please Pardon Our Appearance. Something New is Coming Soon.” The phrasing stops short of confirmation, but the message feels deliberate.

What This Gideon’s Bakehouse Expansion Could Mean

Speculation has naturally followed. Some fans believe the new location could function as a more traditional coffee shop, pairing select cookies with espresso drinks and additional baked goods.

That approach would align with demand while preserving the original store’s identity. A secondary concept could ease congestion without diminishing the mystique that keeps guests lining up.

If confirmed, a second Gideon’s Bakehouse would mark a significant moment for the brand. Few independent businesses achieve this level of visibility within Walt Disney World’s ecosystem.

For now, Disney has not formally announced the project. Gideon’s Bakehouse has also remained quiet, allowing permits, artwork, and guest observations to tell the story.

What feels clear is momentum. The lines have not slowed, the appetite has not faded, and the demand shows little sign of cooling.

Whether this new space delivers cookies, coffee, or something entirely unexpected, it reflects a bakery that has outgrown its original footprint.
