Fans Rejoice: Animal Kingdom Adds Limited Nighttime Hours in 2026
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the most beautiful parks at Walt Disney World, but it has one major drawback—its early closing time. Just as the sun dips below the horizon and Pandora starts to glow, most guests are ushered out of the gates. Fans have long wished for more nighttime hours at Animal Kingdom, and while Disney hasn’t added them back for everyone, there’s finally some good news: select guests will get the chance to stay late again.
A Park That Shines After Dark
Animal Kingdom is a completely different experience at night. The glowing pathways of Pandora feel alive, Expedition Everest races through the mountain in near darkness, and the evening atmosphere transforms the entire park. For years, fans have been vocal about missing this side of Animal Kingdom because of its shortened schedule.
That’s why Disney Vacation Club’s announcement is so exciting. Even though the opportunity is exclusive, it brings back a taste of what makes this park so special after dark.
Moonlight Magic Returns
Disney Vacation Club has confirmed that Animal Kingdom will once again host Moonlight Magic. These late-night events are scheduled for October 29, November 18, and December 15, 2025, with another event set for January 20, 2026. Moonlight Magic has been held at Animal Kingdom before, but every time it returns, it feels like a big win for those who love the park at night.
Members who attend can expect lower wait times, rare character meet-and-greets, entertainment, and free snacks—all while enjoying Animal Kingdom without the usual daytime crowds.
The Exclusive Guest List
Not everyone can join in. Moonlight Magic is a DVC Member-exclusive perk. To qualify, members must have purchased their points directly from Disney, with a minimum of 150 Vacation Points. Registration is required and spots fill quickly. Eligible members can bring up to four guests or as many as are listed on their resort reservation.
Why It Matters
Even though this doesn’t bring nighttime hours back for everyone, it still matters. It shows that Disney is willing to unlock Animal Kingdom’s nighttime magic—even if only for a limited audience. For fans, the hope remains that one day these experiences won’t be limited to DVC events, but available to all guests.
For now, members will get to enjoy those glowing bioluminescent nights, proving once again that Animal Kingdom is one of Disney’s most enchanting parks after dark.
