Between Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park, there are a handful of classic attractions that can be found in both Disney Resorts.
Rides such as the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, “it’s a small world,” Peter Pan’s Flight, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Space Mountain can be found in both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

However, Splash Mountain can only be found in Disneyland Park, as the Magic Kingdom version is currently being taken down by Walt Disney Imagineering and rethemed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Critter Country’s version of the Splash Mountain ride is still operating, but should it be? Many Guests visiting Disneyland Park are slowly being convinced that the Splash Mountain attraction should be laid to rest due to the state it’s in.
One Guest, in particular, took some photos of the ride’s interior, calling for Disney to “Just close it.”

As we can see in these photos, many of the usual effects are no longer working, such as special lighting during the climax of the attraction. When it comes to the grand finale of a Disney ride, nothing ruins the magic faster than a classic effect failing.

What makes it worse is that this Splash Mountain is operating on borrowed time, so Guests riding this attraction for the last time will only remember the disarray it’s been left in. Other Guests may be riding it for the first (and last time), and the lacking effects make for a terrible first impression.

The Walt Disney Company hasn’t disclosed when Disneyland Park’s Splash Mountain ride will be closing, but it can’t be too far behind Magic Kingdom’s. Hopefully, Guests riding this dilapidated attraction aren’t too disappointed with their experience.
