Disney knows that Guests love to be able to experience something special and unique while visiting Disneyland Resort, so they offer a number of exclusive, hard-ticketed events throughout the year. During Halloween, Guests can attend the Oogie Boogie Bash, and during the 2021 holiday season, the Resort debuted its first ticketed evening event for Christmastime, called Merriest Nites. Disneyland Resort also hosts three “Disneyland After Dark” events each year — Sweethearts Nite, Villains Nite, and Star Wars Nite.
After having to cancel some of those events in 2021 due to the pandemic, all of the events are coming back this year, with Sweethearts Nite kicking off the season. Sweethearts Nite will take place on February 1, 3, 8, 10, and 14 at Disneyland Park with a number of exciting events like a special fireworks show, projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle, and a Royal Ball.
There will also be a number of characters in the Park during Sweethearts Nite, including some incredibly rare ones! Here are the characters we know will be making appearances during this year’s Sweethearts Nites:
Main Street, U.S.A. Town Square
- Mickey & Minnie Mouse
- Donald & Daisy Duck
- Clarabelle Cow & Horace Horsecollar
- Mary Poppins & Bert
Fantasyland
- Belle & the Beast — found near Red Rose Tavern
- Gaston — near Red Rose Tavern
- Snow White & Prince Charming — found near the wishing well by Sleeping Beauty Castle
- Princess Aurora & Prince Phillip — found at Fantasyland Theater
- Rapunzel & Flynn Rider — found at Fantasyland Theater
Tomorrowland

- Stitch & Angel — at the Tomorrowland Theater
New Orleans Square

- Bernard & Miss Bianca
Critter Country

While it is common for Guests to see characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy while visiting the Parks, characters like Bernard and Bianca, and Milo Thatch and Kida are incredibly rare, as they almost never make an appearance at Disneyland.
It is important to note that at this time, character interactions at Disneyland are still being done at a socially safe distance. That means that Guests will not be able to stand next to or hug the characters. So, if you are going to Disneyland for Sweethearts Nite, be sure to take as many pictures of the rare characters as you like, but know that since they are so rare, there could be longer than usual lines to have the experience of meeting them.
