Exclusive Disney Magnets Sell Out Fast, Leaving Annual Passholders Frustrated

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders enjoy many perks, but one of the most anticipated benefits is the exclusive Passholder magnet. These collectibles, featuring popular Disney characters, have become a tradition, with past designs showcasing Mickey Mouse, Tinker Bell, Timon and Pumbaa, and Hei Hei.

While securing these magnets usually requires visiting EPCOT and waiting in long lines at Creations Shop, Passholders are often happy to do so—until things don’t go as planned.

Many guests who arrived at EPCOT in mid-February were disappointed to find out that Disney had unexpectedly run out of its latest Passholder magnet, featuring Ray from The Princess and the Frog (2009), far earlier than expected.

Ray Passholder Magnet Distribution Ends Early

Disney originally announced that the Ray magnet would be available at EPCOT’s Creations Shop from January 21 through February 28, 2025. The design, which features Ray gazing up at his beloved Evangeline, quickly became a favorite among Passholders.

However, just weeks into the distribution period, supply ran out. By February 16, guests arriving to pick up the magnet were informed that none remained.

Disney Issues an Official Statement

Following the shortage, Disney updated the My Disney Experience app with an official message:

Please pardon any inconvenience, but the Ray Passholder magnet will no longer be available for pickup at EPCOT after February 16, 2025. From February 17 through February 28, 2025, Passholders will have the opportunity to pick up a Minnie Mouse Passholder magnet at Creations Shop in EPCOT during normal operating hours.

Didn’t get the chance to collect the Ray Passholder magnet? Passholders who visit EPCOT between February 17 and February 28 may be eligible to receive a Ray Passholder magnet in the mail later this spring. To receive a Ray magnet, be sure to confirm or update the address for each Passholder in your household, with a valid US mailing address.

While Disney’s decision to substitute the Ray magnet with a Minnie Mouse version provided an alternative, some fans were disappointed since Minnie has already been featured on several past Passholder magnets.

It remains unclear whether this new Minnie magnet was specifically created for this situation or was leftover stock from a previous promotion.

As always, Passholders looking to claim in-person magnets must present a valid Annual Pass and government-issued photo ID. Each Passholder is eligible for only one magnet per distribution.

    1. I agree!!! I typically go to WDW 3-4 times a year for 12 nights each visit, but INVARABLY it’s NOT during the times when the Passholder Magnets are being distributed. I WAS fortunate on one occasion to apply for a magnet that had “sold out” & it WAS mailed to me, but that was some time ago. Far too many things have changed as a result of the pandemic & there’s NO EXCUSE for them NOT returning to normal again!
