Everything in Walt Disney World Running Smoothly…Except for This Classic Magic Kingdom Coaster
It’s a beautiful day over in Walt Disney World Resort, and although it’s the Most Magical Place on Earth, frequent visitors will know that’s not always the case.
But today seems to be truly magical. Between Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, the lines are low, the weather is beautiful, and everything seems to be running smoothly…except for one of Magic Kingdom’s most beloved roller coaster attractions: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

At the time of this article’s publication, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently listed as ‘Temporarily Unavailable’ on the My Disney Experience app.
There’s no telling when Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will return from its temporary closure. Still, it’s worth mentioning that it is one of the Disney World rides that experiences the most technical difficulties.

Of course, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad first opened in Magic Kingdom in 1980, and it’s been delighting Guests ever since.
Visitors adore the ‘wildest ride in the wilderness’ and have been enjoying the thrilling train ride for over forty years.

Forty years of non-stop operation is more than enough time for wear and tear to accumulate, even with regular maintenance and refurbishment.
That being said, there’s no need to worry about the state of Thunder Mountain. Although it’s inconvenient that it’s currently closed, we have no doubt that it’ll return to operation soon enough.

Once the attraction has overcome its technological hiccup, Guests will be able to experience the ‘wildest ride in the wilderness’ again!
Until then, Space Mountain is always a good sci-fi placeholder for the Wild West-themed coaster.
