In the video, Walt Disney World Resort guests can be heard cheering when the lights turned back on and booing when they turned off again. According to eyewitnesses, the issue persisted for an extended period.
“Walked by the pavilion twice in the past 1.5 hours and it’s been going strong both times,” Reddit user u/dsstudentthrowaway commented.
X (formerly Twitter) user @ThatDisneyBoi also shared footage of the peculiar scene, capturing the chaos from another vantage point in the EPCOT World Showcase. “This was going on for like ten mins before I got there LMAO,” the user captioned the video.

The EPCOT World Showcase
EPCOT’s World Showcase is a highlight of Walt Disney World Resort, offering guests the opportunity to explore 11 international pavilions. Each pavilion showcases its country’s culture, food, and entertainment, and for adults, the popular “Drinking Around the World” challenge is a must-do.
However, during the lighting mishap, the serene, picturesque Germany Pavilion took a chaotic turn. Guests who had likely enjoyed a beverage or two seemed particularly entertained by the unplanned spectacle.
While Disney has not commented on the incident, it appears the problem was resolved by the time this article was published. What caused the malfunction is unclear.
