Guests Spot Dirty Fixtures and Damage Across EPCOT Theme Park

Filthy decorative ribbons and damaged signage plague multiple EPCOT locations, revealing widespread maintenance neglect even as the park prepares to debut the brand-new Soarin’ Across America this summer.

WDWNT documented the deterioration on March 3, posting several photos showing years of accumulated grime on fabric installations at The Land Pavilion and scuffed frames at Connections Eatery.

Yellow and orange ribbons cascading from the ceiling of The Land Pavilion display obvious dirt accumulation and water stains. One photo reveals fabric that appears untouched by cleaning crews for multiple years:

The Land Pavilion houses Soarin’ Around the World, Living with the Land, Sunshine Seasons, and Garden Grill. This summer, it debuts Soarin’ Across America—Walt Disney Imagineering’s new version of the attraction celebrating the U.S. 250th anniversary in July. The updated ride will appear at both EPCOT and Disney California Adventure Park.

Unfortunately, Walt Disney World Resort guests visiting the new Soarin’ experience will encounter the filthy ribbons hanging prominently throughout the building that houses the updated attraction.

At Connections Eatery in World Celebration, a large sign’s black frame shows scuffs and dents from repeated guest contact. The damage appears to have accumulated over time without repair attempts.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t addressed the visible deterioration in Connections Eatery and The Land Pavilion, or announced repair plans.

The Land Pavilion issues are particularly problematic given Soarin’ Across America’s imminent premiere. Walt Disney World Resort is promoting a new attraction, while the building housing it displays visible neglect that undermines the “upgraded” experience messaging.
