Walt Disney World Resort guests were again met with alarming sights at EPCOT this week, as smoke was spotted rising over multiple World Showcase Pavilions. The unsettling scene marks yet another fire-related incident at the Central Florida theme park, which has faced a surprising number of similar reports in recent months.
The latest incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, with photos circulating online showing smoke rising behind the China, Germany, and Italy Pavilions. While Disney has yet to confirm the source or cause, the incident adds to growing concerns about the frequency of smoke and fire-related events at EPCOT.
Just last month, a popcorn cart near the Imagination! Pavilion caught fire, prompting a quick response from Disney cast members. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the unaffected portion of the snack stand reopened shortly after.
In March, thick black smoke poured from the France World Showcase Pavilion in an incident that went viral online. The smell of fire spread throughout the area, and EPCOT guests captured and shared footage from across the park. Only days later, more smoke was seen rising near the nearby Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts—just steps from EPCOT.
This week’s sighting was reported by Reddit user u/Calico_Leopard, who posted two photos of the smoke on Wednesday, June 11, stating, “Fire behind epcot china/germany/italy yesterday, anyone got updates?” According to the guest, the images were taken around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.

“My pictures arent the best but around 6pm or so yesterday we were at Spice Road and heard the sirens from the backlot, came around and saw the big smoke rising up behind the countries,” the Disney Park guest wrote.
Reactions online ranged from concern to disbelief, as fans continue to notice a pattern of recurring fire-related events at the park.
“It has been 32 0 days since our last incident!” u/gayjoystick quipped.
Another user, u/HumpaDaBear, simply asked, “Again?”
Walt Disney World Resort has not made any public statements about the most recent incident. There are no reports of damage or injuries, and all three EPCOT World Showcase Pavilions appeared to remain open on Wednesday.
