Musée Grévin, a famous wax museum in Paris, France, recently added another celebrity’s likeness to its vast collection after teasing fans with a sneak peek featuring the waxwork’s silhouette.

This wax figure is undeniably something out of the uncanny valley, and fans have been quick to point this out.
One fan joked around, writing, “I’m so sorry, guys, but [The Rock] looks like he got food poisoning.”
“Not close enough to The Rock. I guess it’s his stuntman,” says another.

While it’s recognizable as Dwayne Johnson, something about it just looks…off. Not to mention, the skin tone is a tad lighter than the WWE superstar’s darker complexion. Some fans have implied that this looks more like Mr. Clean than The Rock.
The wax figure can be seen standing with its arms crossed, its face suspended in The Rock’s typical cocky smirk. It’s dressed in a blue collared shirt and blue pants. The waxwork has also been given the same iconic tattoos as Dwayne Johnson.
It’s even standing in the same iconic pose, its arms crossed in front of it.
But despite these similarities, there’s something missing from this wax figure, leaving it behind in an uncanny valley.
The strange thing is that this museum is known for having wax figures that are incredibly accurate and realistic. So, for Musée Grévin to tease fans with a brand new wax figure of the former WWE champion only to fall short with its delivery is very unusual.
One fan points this out, writing, “Not one of your best guys – considering the quality of the rest of the museum, there’s something not right about the sculpt on this.”
