Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Faces Operational Failure Months After Grand Opening
Months after its grand debut, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Resort encountered a significant operational issue, leaving guests stranded. The attraction, which officially opened in November 2024, took over the controversial Splash Mountain, offering a fresh, family-friendly experience themed around The Princess and the Frog (2009).
Last week, TikTok user @coryhogan3 shared a video showing their experience getting stuck at the top of the ride’s 50-foot drop. The footage captured the tension as riders were left waiting and wondering how long the malfunction would last. The guests in the video could be heard panicking as they were stuck at the highest point of the ride.

“As you heard my friend was freaking out,” the Disney Park guest wrote.
Luckily for riders, Disney cast members were able to avoid evacuating guests from the ride, as the attraction came back online shortly after the pause. “The ride came back on shortly after,” the TikToker said.
As of the publication of this article, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is operating normally again, and the single rider line is open. The cause of the malfunction remains unclear, and Disneyland Resort has not issued any official statement about the technical failure.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure takes guests on a musical journey through the New Orleans bayou. Original film voice actors Anika Noni Rose (Princess Tiana), Jenifer Lewis (Mama Odie), Michael-Leon Wooley (Louis), and Bruno Campos (Prince Naveen) even returned to the studio to reprise their roles for the attraction. Dr. Facilier (Keith David) does not appear on the Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort rides.
Incidents like these are a reminder that even the newest attractions aren’t immune to technical issues. Like all major theme parks, Disneyland Resort regularly deals with operational pauses and breakdowns on high-capacity rides.
